The consolidation threads are very annoying. They reduce fresh discussion on a related topic and stifle engagement.

I totally get that, and it can be a difficult call at times to decide whether a new topic offers the possibility of a substantially different angle or is just going to create two or more parallel discussions on the same topic. In this case I think it made sense to merge the two topics, but that's just my subjective call as a mod. Smile
