Great to see Tim English recognised as the best ruckman in the game 😉

Daicos x 2 and Moore should be in the team, be nice to see the other 2 make it but they’ll have to squeeze in the gold coast marquee instead.

^^ ^

As for English, he’s not the best ruckman in the competition yet.
Rohan Marshall ( also nominated ) has been much more prolific around the ground than English, for mine. Brad Johnson has done everything to get English a guernsey since early May but hopefully the selectors dont get sucked in by it.

More importantly, congratulations to all those nominated.

Have 2 brothers ever been selected in the same AA team?

Well-deserved all. IQ has always had it in him, but that's still a huge leap in a single season, while it's just as big an achievement for JDG given his journey.

Who are the locks for for the final cut?

The Cornes brothers (2007) are the last ones I can remember

Most in the media believe that... But this isn't recognition of it (yet). 'Cos he's not the only ruckman in the squad.

And they might choose two ruckmen in the final cut... So it might not be clear even then.

The CD rankings agree with the AA selectors:

1. Tim English
2. Rowan Marshall

3. Kieren Briggs
4. Jarrod Witts
5. Max Gawn
6. Sean Darcy
7. Reilly O'Brien
8. Todd Goldstein
9. Oscar McInerney
...

Well, Luke Jackson is also in the squad. Dunno if the selectors reckon he's a ruckman or forward...

Maybe Crisp if they do a 3-year average?

I did think Crisp could have jagged a spot in the squad. Has flown under the radar this year, but been very good I reckon. May well end up in the top 5 in the Copeland.

For me, the only obvious locks from the named squad members are Nick Daicos and Darcy Moore. I reckon De Goey misses on account of not playing enough games, and then we get at least one and possibly both of Quaynor and Josh – usually sides that finish top of the ladder have pretty decent representation.

Daicos brothers and Moore made the final team JDG stiff not to get on the bench.
