the players soaked

floodlit stadium…
the rain swirls
into itself




a rainy evening
blurs into night
we miss another goal




Pendles
sidesteps in the rain...
a lullaby




newly engaged
we celebrate each goal
with a kiss





filling the silence
between goals...
sweet nothings





tense win —
learning to live
with a crowd
