No doubt we were beaten except on the scoreboard. But pressure is not easily captured in stats, especially when you know your opponent can run the length of the ground in seconds and score four in a row before you catch your breath.

The opponent is also tiring themselves silly trying to beat us at the stoppage, spread to block us switching, and clog the middle to stifle our run.

When you combine the pressure with the exhaustion, your accuracy is going to suffer.

As then, so now.

Exacty PTD. It is not accidental that so many opposition teams are inaccurate on goal against us. The physical exhaustion that they incur just from absorbing our l pressure and countering our aggressive ball movement, as well as the psychological pressure of knowing that every shot on goal is
critical, because Collingwood can overcome almost any deficit in the final quarter, creates a perfect storm of uncertainty and fragility in the opposition.

100% agree with you both, and the above also explains the appalling win rate for teams the week after they play the Pies

I love what Hill brings to the game, he lays more tackles than Ginnivan, and I perceive he is involved in a lot more pressure acts.
I think this is right up there as to why he is in the side instead of Ginnivan.

I also have a feeling there are disciplinary reasons at play. Ginnivan may have been required to take another step fitness wise, but has been wayward.

But I love Ginnivan as well. Speed is not everything, Steve Johnson comes to mind. Ginnivan is a good player, and is only 20.

I noticed in his recent VFL game, a lot of tackles were highlighted in the club posted vid. I think tells us something.

Bobby gives so much more than the goal sneak Ginnivan. He regularly helps out down back and is a defacto wing player half the time. Great delivery, pace, defensive skills and commitment. He's a guy who has been given a chance and has taken it in both hands. I cant see us dropping him unless he is injured.

As for Ginnivan, has he addressed his habit of dropping when tackled? It didnt look like it last time he was in the seniors. I think barring injuries to other players, he stays in the seconds.

Good, Ginni needs to string a few good games together in the twos before he gets back in. WHE / Markov more deserving on form

Is markov to play forward? If Ginnavan can’t get in with Hill out, then he’s not getting back in ever.

WHE straight back in, must be a favourite if the coach

Cerra, Cripps, Marchbank, Martin, Owies and Pittonet all in for them. I think pnc called it! Silvagni and Walsh are the only outs due to injury; otherwise, Dow, Honey, Cowan, Young and Ed Curnow have all been dropped.

I think you’re right, but the reason he’s a favorite.
Can run,can kick, can mark. Good solid player who does the job given to him.

Is anyone else thinking that our forward line won't be as sharp without the extra small forward? Does WHE play forward? Or does Oleg roam forward?

Oleg Markov is there for the run from half back, period. He's not a forward or goal kicker; but a deliverer.
That's one of WHE's roles sometimes (albeit is Sub on this occasion to ease him back from injury).

Taylor Adams has shown to be lively in front of goal lately. He will be entrusted more to this small forward role IMO to fill the void left by Bobby Hill.

Bobby's explosive run along the wing is taken up by Markov.

Ginny can sub and i think Marcov to starting line up.

Hi 90 Nice. It has already been decided. Markov is now starting 22 and WHE is the sub. Ginni is an emergency.
