Posting on behalf of JLC...

With regards to the place where the Wizard Cup GF is played maybe it should be worked out on the same basis as the Davis Cup and FA Cup?

So if Collingwood plays Adelaide in Adelaide then the next time the two teams meet in wizard cup the game is in adelaide

the time after that its in Melbourne

Does that kinda make sense?

yeh, its a good idea, however if you are only talking about Grand Finals then its gonna be a bit hard to implement as its gonna have to be based on a rotating cycle of maybe hundreds of years. However i dont think this is what you mean.

If you are talking about all wizzard cup games then it is workable to a degree however it still doesnt cater for those games that the AFL want to use away from the traditional grounds eg Darwin, Canberra etc.
For instance if a game was played in Bendigo between Collingwood and Adelaide would this be Collingwoods home game? Adelaide would probably think so because its in Victoria and there's greater chance of more Collingwood fans attending, however many Collingwood fans would disagree saying it was neutral territory because its too difficult to get to for many of them. I could see Collingwood wanting the next scheduled meeting between the two clubs.

Maybe it should be a 3 way rotating system somehow to incorporate these additional promotional games that have been used in various parts of the country. Although then you might have to exclude semi and grandfinals from this "promotional game" rotation.

good suggestion though, could be workable with a little refinement.

Ideally thats how the AFL normal season matches (excluding finals) should also work. I think it is supposed to work like that to some degree, whereby the meetings between the clubs carry over to following season so that instead of maybe playing Brisbane 2 or 3 times in a row up there and vice versa, you get it in direct alternation. However it doesnt always seem to work like that.
