Can the OP writer also edit the times Grundy tapped to distinct disadvantage: oh right not measured.
Can the OP writer edit the number of missed marks: oh right not counted.
Can the OP writer also edit the times Grundy ought to have spoiled when he had the chance and didn’t? Oh right not counted.

Stats, stats and more stats.

At the end of the day it was simple arithmetic. We just couldn’t afford him. End of story.

Next.

To be fair WPT, I dont think OP was suggesting the above represent the hit outs of a million dollar ruckman....they read pretty poorly for mine.

For mine, I'm More than happy to have him out of the Club, and looking forward to the season with the squad we have

It's very quiet in here since Gawn and Grundy horribly exposed Tim English's defective technique on Saturday night.

Melbourne had 12 hitouts to advantage to Footscray's 7. Melbourne's ruckmen kicked 3 goals to Footscray's ruckmens' nil.

Off the back of their ruck dominance, Melbourne turned the game on its head in the late part of the second quarter, kicking 5 goals in the space of 19 disposals (17-2 Melbourne's way). Melbourne won the centre clearances 15 to 8.

Grundy was, of course, eased back into the game after missing so much footy with his knee injury. He played just 69% of the game and attended 29 ruck contests to Gawn's 38. That's just as well for English, of course, because the last time he played Grundy for a full game, he lost the hitouts 4 to 39.

Anyway, even with that limited gametime, Grundy showed (of course) that he is a massive upgrade on Jackson. He had 17 disposals, 12 hitouts and kicked a goal. At Melbourne, Jackson averaged 4 and
a half kicks, 3 marks, 8 handballs, a goal every second game and 10 hitouts. Jackson never had more than 22 hitouts and reached 20 just once.
Also, Grundy's power in the ruck enabled Gawn to play more of the game as a forward (he attended just under half of the ruck contests, with Grundy and McDonald attending 40) - and that caused its own headaches for the Footscray defenders.

The OP is going to be a car crash, as I think those of you who watch football with an open mind well know.
