Post subject: Top fifty players for 2022 (multiple sources) | |
|
Today's herald sun has published Mark Robinson's top 50 players for the year
He published the same list before the season, and we had one player in it, Darcy Moore at number 32.
In the new list, we have seven players in it.
11- Darcy Moore
21 - De Goey
23 - Crisp
29 - Pendlebury
32 - Maynard
46 - Howe
50 - Nick Daicos
feels weird, not used to the press giving accolades to our players
Cripps is number 1, Geelong has 8 players, and nine teams have zero or one player only |

Also, Tom Mitchell at 25.
Oh oops - that was last year's list. |

I've always felt Pies fans underrate Moore, and agree with Robbo on that front. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

i dont know why fans underestimate Moore
It takes a Premiership to label 22 blokes as legends but without one, fans come up with all sort of crazy appraisals for players.
He is already on the way to being one of our best ever. |

Shout-out to Robbo on his 2022 predictions, who predicted Collingwood for the wooden spoon and decided that the Cats would miss the Final 8, all together.
Perennial head scratcher how he maintains two high-profile gigs on TV and in the newspaper. Looking at his picks in 2022, it seems he would struggle to tell if his arse was on fire even if he smelled the smoke.
So here's hoping he'll pick us to finsih outside the Final 8 again. _________________ "The Club's not Jock, Ted and Gerry" (& Eddie)

|
2022 Collingwood players inside Top 100 (position / name / points/100)
https://www.statsinsider.com.au/afl/player-ratings ~
14 Jack Crisp Mid 95.2
31 Darcy Moore Key Def 93.0
37 Jordan De Goey Mid 92.3
43 Scott Pendlebury 91.1
61 Brayden Maynard Gen Def 88.9
76 Jeremy Howe Gen Def 86.2
84 Nick Daicos Mid 84.5
They also break down the individual AFL Player DNA. The data used is an average of that player's last 15 games, based on 100% time on ground in 20 minute quarters, and they are presented as a percentage of the top player in that category.

Moore - leg bone infection
DeGoey - shoulder clean out.
Maynard - shoulder reco
N Daicos - Achilles soreness
I’m not saying any of them won’t play first round but when your best players have interrupted pre seasons, it can take a while before they warm to the task of playing their best footy once again.
Reckon Josh Daicos would have been close to # 51 too |

Of course he would because he’ll think that’s bright sunshine coming out of it. _________________ I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm ☔️ |
