As the fear of powers like China goes up, so does the Australian clinging to Anglo-America, so the data doesn't surprise. I can't see that changing now, made worse by the fact that the working alternative is the even more overtly dysfunctional American presidential system.
The problem over here is that the existence of an unmerited royalty normalises the creation of 'special rules for special people'. And the worst of that results in the shameless tax havening of wealth and sickly investment in the country itself by the wannabe aristocracy (world-class wealth offshoring and pathetic relative R&D spending by companies, along with an increasingly gutted NHS and public services, for starters).
I'm always amazed by the delusions people buy into that make them far worse off, whether be Trump there or the royalty-cum-aristocratic farce here. The belief in 'superior people especially deserving' has to be the most destructive myth that society just can't shake. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

^And to make matters worse here, Liz 'as dim as Johnson but nastier' Truss is using the royal distraction and economic stress of inflation to advocate a return to trickle-down tax cuts to put even more money into offshore accounts.
So, first the costly impost of Brexit, now a return to full-on society wrecking. All at the behest of people who keep voting for callous undeserving wealth to make their own lot worse. It's damned tiring watching it play out even as everyone is penalised for the glory of sadistic extreme wealth. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

Massive pedo, which I never knew.
But yes, talented musician, and without him, rock'n'roll might not exist. |

One of the greats!
The last of Rock n Roll's creators now gone. The others being Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Ike Turner, of course. Probably should also add Bo Didley to that list. _________________ kill for collingwood! |

Loved The Killer.
Visited Sun Studios in 2002 as part of a Rock n roll / Blues tribute road trip. Still have a poster, the tickets from the Sun Studios tour and a 45 of A Whole Lotta Shaing Going On all framed up.
He must have been like nitro-glycerine on stage, I can only imagine what it must have been like in the 50's. _________________ "The Club's not Jock, Ted and Gerry" (& Eddie)

That list is certainly En Pointe.
I'll have to throw a Chicago Bluesman into the mix though, and Muddy Waters is hard to keep out. Mannish Boy just gets into my bones. _________________ "The Club's not Jock, Ted and Gerry" (& Eddie)

Hamburg Live 64. One of the greatest rock n roll live albums. If you get a chance, look up some of the reviews. What a show that would have been. _________________ kill for collingwood! |
