Hawthorn has commissioned their own review into internal racism following the allegations made by Cyril Rioli.

Apparently Hawthorn has had the report for about 3 weeks but clearly haven't disclosed any of the content, it's also apparently with the AFL Integrity commission.

Yeah as I said repeatedly the last few years, there’s a lot worse at other clubs. It’s coming out though, and the others will be pissing themselves. About time too, a lot of it is absolutely appalling and recent, not decades ago.

What I'd like to know is - did North Melbourne know of this before they signed up Clarkson.

They will lose members over this. I wouldn't touch him with a 10 ft pole.

Name and shame those in the media who knew about this but didn’t say boo when they dragged Collingwood through the mud.

Just want to note that Ben Cousins got a year's suspension for "bringing the game into disrepute" merely for being a drug addict.

How can Clarkson and co. receive any less? He should be stood down at the very least.

North have been blindsided. Is Clarkson so arrogant he didn’t think anything would come out of Hawthorn’s review? Should have retired to his farm.

I've given up trying to understand AFL decisions - The Wayne Cary affair killed it for me. Imagine being Stevens and having to see that nob on the tv week in week out.

The word to describe the AFL is puerile. There needs to be real-world consequences for this type of behaviour.

By the way, for anyone wondering about the timelines here, Chris Fagan (who is named in the first – and worst – two stories) was at Hawthorn from 2008 to 2016.

Also a full list of Indigenous players who've been at the club is below. Three guys having experiences like this is actually quite a lot given only twelve Indigenous players in total were at the club in that time period. Add Cyril Rioli (who presumably isn't one of the players mentioned in the article) and that's at least 1 in 3 Indigenous Hawthorn players in this period who have left the club on really bad terms.

Let’s just allow this to play out.
Allegations are just that and no doubt there will be another side to the story.

A bit like the Lumumba allegations at Collingwood, the truth of actual events depends on who you ask.

Interesting timing too. Hawks must have been told a month ago to sit on it until after the grand final, but conscience (rightly) got the better of someone. There’s racism at other clubs too who should own it and step up, not stay silent and hope the spotlight doesn’t point their way.
