I'm not sure that makes it official - nothing on our website yet.

Going on Buckley's SEN interview today, the club hasn't officially announced it, but he certainly didn't push back against the claim in any way – just said that he didn't want to talk about it at the moment.

Sier was offered a two year deal two days before he thought he was Ben Simmons in Banyule!! Might be a regretful decision to chase the hoops. Think they'll keep him though for what it's worth.

Wonder if there's any truth to the one that has Essendon offering us a second round pick?

The interesting thing for the Pies is that with likely 8-10 players vulnerable to move on, you need the draft picks, rookie upgrades and trades to replace them. We only have as of today:

* Draft picks: 35, 53, 64 and 71

* Likely Rookie Upgrades: Brody Mihocek, Flynn Appleby (Contracted)

* Cat B Rookies retained as Cat B's: Mark Keane, Anton Tohill

* Trade Ins:

1. Darcy Cameron: seems likely and an excellent get (Pick 64 or 71)

So shall need to find 2-3 other inclusions from the above "levers".

Thought I'd be a tosser and attach "Official". But as it stands we now have:

1. Tyson Goldsack
2. Daniel Wells
3. Sam Murray

off the Pies list pending October 31. Shall be interesting to see who else falls out over the next two weeks. As stated previously:

Likely departees:

4. Ben Reid: Body Broken
5. Ben Crocker: spare the fans more grief
6. Tim Broomhead: see Ben Reid
7. Lynden Dunn: Dicky Knee
8. Travis Varcoe: if we win he'll retire, if we lose he may be blamed/delisted
9. Max Lynch: Darcy Cameron wants your locker number
10. Jack Madgen: Hey Aussie Boomers! "Need a hand"?

The first 3 would likely release the best part of $1m in cap space.
Roll in the balance it's another $1m-$1.5m. Even a mid-point $2m, that's a decent amount to redistribute.

I'd keep Dunne as a depth player for 1 more season and to assist Kelly's development.

We won't let Grundy go. Put it this way, if we were chasing him from Adelaide we'd give him what he'd command in the open market bid.

I'd really like to see us have a crack at Rory Laird.

Problem is LH, if we let 10 players go, we have to bring in 10 players to replace them, and so there goes a lot of that supposed spare salary cap space.

We have two upgrades being Checkers and Noble which I think can be used on our last two picks.

So I expect and unlike many know nothing but your would think there will be 6 changes so we have identified 3 so three more to go

Which given we have
Varcoe
Dunn
Reid

Crocker
Broomie
Lynch
Apples

The last 4 are all due with the last 3 all rookies (like Murray) and effectively do not open a place on the list

My understanding is that we need a minimum of 3 full list selections but if Checkers & Noble that would leave 1 selection.

But maybe Noble can be rookied

Anyone with full understanding of this?

Just on Greenwood, could he retire from AFL now, nominate for the draft (and not be taken given the injury) then be signed to the VFL team (or in a coaching capacity) for the same as what he was contracted for on the AFL list, then we pick him up in the midseason draft for free as a boost to the back end of the season?

Mihocek's needs upgrading but Noble is a full fledged Senior listed player.

Sier is gone.

From what I’ve heard, he “checked out” mid year.
Personality clash with someone who’s not
About to leave anytime soon.

The only ones who said that he agreed in principle is the media.
He’s doesn’t take footy seriously enough for the coach who takes it more seriously than most.

Not according to the club website https://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/pies-teams/afl/rookies

The club persisted with him in the hope that he would decide that footy was his priority.

If it isn't, fair enough. See you later 'Phil Inn' and bring in someone who wants to do the hard yards.
