There will be no more little Pendles as well. I have it straight from the horses mouth (attended a sportsman’s night in Bendigo last week featuring Pendles, Sidey and Tony Shaw) where Pendles said that he was having the “snip” the next day. When the audience gasped, he stated that if the need arose again, the process was reversible 😮‍💨 🤗 😗

We should have hooked him up to a milking machine and extracted a couple of litres to keep on ice first.

So Pendles has the record for most Brownlow votes at a single club. But is 5th overall for total votes. (Gaz, Danger, Dempsey, and Mitchell played for 2 clubs).
The chances of Pendles bringing home the Brownlow are gone, but how many votes can he get next year? He got 6 in 2023, 2 in 2022, 6 in 2021. Six more votes will see him equal Sam Mitchell in 4th (7 to pass). To catch Dempsey in 3rd, he needs 25 votes, which will be a bit of a stretch now.
Would have loved to have seen him bring home a Brownlow, but hopefully he can at least pass Mitchell, be outright 4th and will be the highest vote getter without a win. Remember when they'd say that about Leigh Matthews all the time?

He can still win the Norm Smith (again), of course.

Do some of Dempsey's votes not count as they were awarded double votes in '77 or thereabouts

^ Yes. After his "raw" votes (246, third all-time) are adjusted (to 218.5), Dempsey drops to 5th, behind Pendles on 221.
For the record, Pendles has long-since eclipsed Matthews, who managed 202 votes - but only 173.5 adjusted.

AFL tables gives both tallies, here: https://afltables.com/afl/brownlow/totals0.html

One of and possibly our greatest will in Round 18 be the 6th player in VFL /AFL history ton play 400 games. Have a good season Scott and stay injury free.

^^ As things stand, Pendlebury sits equal sixth on the VFL/AFL all-time games list alongside Robert Harvey.
Hopefully, he'll reach the 400 club in round 17. Then it's another Premiership. Might finish 3rd on the list.
Start building plans for another statue next to Lou Richards!

1 Brent Harvey, 432
2 Michael Tuck, 426
3 Shaun Burgoyne, 407
4 Kevin Bartlett, 403
5 Dustin Fletcher, 400
6 Scott Pendlebury, 383
7 Robert Harvey, 383

As things stand Pendlebury got 6 possessions on the Adelaide Oval and suspected broken ribs. He’s 22 short of 10,000. Not expecting him to play against Port or Essendon. Give the guy a break and let us find out about the others

We already have a bye coming up, so it's good time to manage him.

Please dont be injured Pendles! I really want him to play on Anzac Day.
https://afltables.com/afl/teams/allteams/anzac_day_clash.html#ps

He needs to play in 2 more to equal Fletcher in Anzac games played. Not that this is an important stat, but it'd be nice to take it. Pendles was unable to play on Anzac Day in the covid year, which has also stopped him from equalling Fletcher. It'd also be nice to see him win a 4th Anzac Medal.

Gee'z there's a lot coming up (and on the line). We've got Crisps run of games to pass Styens (25 more games). We've Got 10,000 touches coming up for Pendles (23 disposals away). We've got 400 games coming up for Pendles (12 Games away). And we've got the all-time games played in reach for Pendles too (44 games away).

Of course, I'd trade all that in for another flag. But I'd still love to be able to see these records broken by our guys.

Yep, broken rib. I expect he'll be out for 3 weeks, so back for the Carlton game. That's a good 30 days between games.
