So, first question. If he's such a good opener, why did NSW bat him at 7 in the ING Cup game against WA? Maybe they thought Alfie would be opening the bowling! Lol.

ok lets just set the record straight Ms tarrant....do you like slater because of his batting or are you only after him for his ummm I guess "looks"?

He did some good things for australian test cricket as he was very aggressive...but lets be honest he wont play for australia again

Donny you are the best guy in the world! LoL I don't think many people will be posting in here however, I will be talking to myself most of the time! Now to answer your questions I don't know why they had Slats batting at number seven the other day it's absolutely crazy! As for why do I like Slater it has got nothing to do with his looks, well I think he's hot but that's not what it's about! I have loved Michael Slater for 10 years and I think he is the best batsman in the world and will definately be playing for Australia again one day! Would I go to the cricket for five days straight if I just liked him for his looks? I think not! GO SLATSY!

LoL that is indeed very funny! Apparently he is interviewing Gilchrist and Gilly starts speaking in some other language and Slats pulls a face this is all I know! How come the whole world has seen it and I haven't oh and you Donny! Not fair!

And why hasn't anyone come up with the joke about Slater only good for interviews now because he can't play anymore LoL I shouldn't be encouraging you all!

Slats isn't considered one of the greats in one day cricket or any cricket (NOT ACCORDING TO ME OF COURSE!) so you can't possibly be referring to him! Slats will be around next year let us not worry about that one! Could you be referring to Steve and Mark Waugh? No somehow I think they will be around next year also! So I guess the answer to your question is no!

Slater paked in his first one day game for Australia if my memory serves me correct.....lol Scored a 50 maybe 70 against Sth Africa at the MCG. Hit a straight six down the ground but Aussies lost the game.

Slater was an exciting player whose attack was his best means of defence. However often looked sloppy when getting out which wasn't good. However he was entertaining to watch and thats what cricket is all about. Seems his private life interfered with his private life or vice versa towards the end.

Assasin Slater's record is definately much more impressive in the tests than one dayers. You would think that the sort of player he is he would be much better in the one dayers but that's not the case! I agree with you JLC Slater's private life definately ruined his career but it's not over yet of course! He still has plenty of time to get back into the Australian team but I don't think he is a favourite of the selectors damn them! I wish I was a selector!
