Amelia Velardo reported to be going to the Blues as part of a trade.
Pies would get Blues onballer Lauren Brazzale.

Pies would be adding experience to the midfield with Davey out but lose a developing younger player.

Nicola Stevens does a Nicola Stevens and gets her trade to another club.

Happy, because screw you Carlton.

Not too pleased that Aliesha Newman has left, but oh well.

We've now seen a few players out, and none to come in as yet.

Interesting to see Perko has gone back to Hawthorn. AFLW this time.

Disappointed that Aliesha has left but she didn't really cement her spot in the team last season. Smith and Purcell were both fringe players.

Alexander is a bit of a loss but her form was a bit flaky. Hopefully Imogen Barnett can step up next season and take her spot.

Eb O'Dea is a grunt player, not the most talented but always gives 100%. Again was in and out of the team last season.

The only mooted trade was Amelia Velardo to the Blues but no confirmation as yet.

Will be interested to see if any of the VFLW girls get promoted. Matilda Zander has had a great season and would be a good add to the AFLW.

Confirmed, Amelia Velardo has been traded to Carlton for Lauren Brazzale.

"Collingwood has received picks 38 and pick 89 in the upcoming AFLW national draft in exchange for pick 73, with Brazzale crossing to the Magpies and Amelia Velardo heading to Carlton."

Todays action:

"The Pies have acquired picks 30 and 33 in the upcoming AFLW national draft in exchange for picks 25 and 38."

https://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/news/1141265/collingwood-involved-in-pick-swap

Pick 33 was then used in the trade for Olivia Barber from Geelong.

"Hailing from Albury in New South Wales, Barber represented the Murray Bushrangers throughout the 2019 and 2020 NAB league seasons. She also played for Vic Country in the 2019 Under 18 Championships where she was later named as an All-Australian for the side.

Standing 185cm tall, Barber will be a strong asset up forward and will offer great versatility as a former state-level basketballer."

Collingwood has added Emily Smith to its list as a rookie.

"Smith, a wicketkeeper, has played for Hobart Hurricanes, Perth Scorchers and Sydney Thunder in the WBBL, and the Tasmanian Tigers in the 50-over WNCL.

The 27-year-old also has extensive footy experience, playing with St Albans and St Kilda Sharks in the then-VWFL, and named an Under-18 All-Australian in 2013."

The Pies 2022 Mk2 list continues to take shape:

https://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/news/1145418/six-pies-recommit

"Collingwood’s list for the seventh AFLW season is quickly taking shape with six young Pies signing new deals with the club.

Eliza James, Joanna Lin and Alana Porter have recommitted until the end of 2023, whilst Jordyn Allen, Abbi Moloney and Imogen Barnett have extended for another season."

https://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/news/1146479/pies-experience-recommit

"Collingwood continues to strengthen its list for the upcoming AFLW season, with six more players recommitting to the club.

Sophie Casey, Stacey Livingstone, Erica Fowler and Sarah Rowe have all penned two-year deals that will see them remain Magpies until the end of 2023."

Very happy that Stacey has signed on again, she is our rock in the backline. With Jordy Allen also signed, this just leaves Lauren Butler of the regular backline group to sign.

Edit: Lauren signed a 2 year deal in June 2021.

Without Bri and Bonnici out again twice aflw season in a row means again thin on ground for top line players.

I hope for the best for the Pies but like last season we can not do it without these 2 which is a bummer.

Again we miss out.
