Jack Ginnivan at pick 13 in the rookie draft seems like a steal now but opens up a broader discussion. Here we have a specialised skilled position (small forward) doing what he was recruited to do: play as a specialised forward and kick goals. Our historical recruiting mantra in recruiting "hybrid" players needs to be eased.
Too many examples of this: "he can play up forward, go into the mid-field and play down back"......
Next step: specialised powerful KEY FORWARD please. _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

I'd wait a couple of years before making an assessment on Ginnivan.
We've been scarred by players have a breakout year and then disappearing into oblivion - J Anthony, C Dawes, J Stevenson. Let's see what Ginnivan can do now that he'll start attracting a better opposition defender.
As for the next step: yes, we need to key forward |
