There's competition and then there's having too many players of a type. Still recall a VFL F50 that tried to rotate all of Witt's Shae Mc, Ceglar, Gault, Payne and Wood through. Does nothing for development.
As things stand in 2022 we'll have an F50 of Cameron and Checkers. Kelly the front runner for that 3rd tall forward. Reserves will have Kreuger, Begg, McMahon and Johnson. That's too top heavy for mine. |

He may come to the club thinking that's the case but still has to justify selection ahead of Kelly in the preseason. His best chance in that battle is if McRae decides Kelly's future is in defence. I think Johnson who is a similar late bloomer as Kreuger would also have high expectations. |

* Kelly shall go back given Roughead is close to the end and Keane no certainty to make it
* D Cameron can come off the bench as the back up Ruckman amidst about 40% game time forward
* Begg shall be Reserves most of the year
* McMahon shall be Reserves predominantly made to earn an upgrade
* Johnson seems an "inbetweener" with an agility factor
2022 Forward line Round One:
HF: Henry Mihocek Johnson
F: Elliott Krueger Ginnivan
(potentially: Stengle as backup)
Nice balance of height, agility and talent
PS: we are bound for injuries to be factored in too _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

Im a bit like Jackcass - Im not getting too excited at all. He's unproven and had his issues particularly with injury.
That said, for 205 points I think the deal is a good one. Again, Wrights knocked it over quickly and at the right price.
IF he can bring his highlights to the AFL level consistently then Ill be very happy. I doubt very much if he is in the team rd one. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

Yep, this. Seen and heard it all before, will wait to see how it plays out. |

All true. Kelly might be best suited to playing down back while Johnson was promising playing in the SA league teams, but he has to show now he can perform at AFL senior level before you'd consider him ahead of Kreuger who has played at AFL level. |

At this stage, any of Kelly, Kreuger, Begg and Johnson could potentially end up in defence. Be a very interesting preseason to watch unfold. |

I recall Craig McRae mention something about players in position,s not an assured thing
Reading into that he will play players where they are conducive to team success _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Yeah, the only one we've heard consistently thus far is that Moore will remain in defence. |
