Will be close to a full house with both teams in good form.
It's really a coin toss type of game. No reason both sides can't win this one.

Weather is a cool 16 degrees and a few showers
The deck to get greasy kind of different from yesterday
Expect an attendance in the high 90s k I’m going with 98k
Tough and hard at the start and Collingwood to win by 3 goals
As with Anzac Day medal I think Crisp is definitely due for a cracking game
But I’ll go for De Goey
No real changes from yesterday
Like to see reef in the starting lineup and possibly Marcov comes in and play as sub
No real impressive performance from the vfl today so unchanged I’ll go for
Anyway this is my line up ill go with on Anzac day at the MCG.

FB: Noble Frampton Howe
CB: Maynard Moore Quaynor
C: Josh Daicos Pendles Nick Daicos
CF: Hill Cox Shultz
FF: Elliott Checkers WHE
R: Cameron Mitchell JDG
INT: Sidy Crisp McCreey Lipinski
SUB: McInness or Harrison or Marcov

😳 Nah pretty sure that only one side can win this 😜 Having got my last prediction of the margin right, I say Collingwood by 16 points.

Maybe I'm jumping at shadows here, but a 5-day turnaround worries me.

St Kilda got smashed against the Dogs coming off a 5-day turnaround, and same with Melbourne the week before against Brisbane.

Massive test for us coming off a 5 day break but I'm hoping that the confidence gained from Port win will have us primed to play our brand of footy and move our win loss ratio into the positive. This is especially important given we play the scum after Anzac day.
Unchanged line up for mine, hopefully the timelord can rack up 10000 possessions and another Anzac day medal to go with it

Coming of a 5 day break might be a problem, I agree. But hey, Essendon's coming off a 6 day break so there shouldn't be any advantage there.

Good form? You called Port a better team, our season over, the coach's time done...

So, our Premiership defence looks like it's finally arrived. While Port Adelaide thoroughly challenged us in a high intensity and physical opening quarter, by the end of the 2nd we absorbed their barrage and were once again playing with the intensity, skill and style that we've become used to over the past 2 seasons. At our best, our 4-quarter effort and pressure remains the competition benchmark.
Pleasingly, it was the first time in 8 games (since the Round 24) we've kicked over 100 points.
That botched and crowded draw that was the first 5 games of the 2024 season looked to be behind us, and we simply looked fresher off the bye.
And for most supporters, we revelled in it.

Onto the best H&A fixture of each season, ANZAC Day. Since the famous first meeting and drawn game on 25 April 1995 (Collingwood 111–111 Essendon), we've played 28 times for 17 wins and 1 draw.

Essendon showed some real guile to overtake a listless Adelaide at home, so I can't see them just rolling over. And this Brad Scott led side is hard at the contest, their contested possession and tackle ratings would suggest they'll be up for the challenge.

https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_team_rankings?year=2024&type=TA&sby=6

At their core, the Bombers have a pretty balanced list. Maybe lacking high end talent, but I reckon they bat down the list pretty even all the same.
They've got enough regular contributors that as a team, coming off two wins and a big home ground behind them, we'll need to ensure we respect the opponent, and our pressure rating is maintained over 4 quarters.

On the injury front, both lists are in pretty good shape. Apart from those on the LTIL, we're pretty much at full strength.
For the Bombers, Dylan Shiel had a good hit-out in the magoos and Peter Wright will have served his suspension, so there's 2 potential ins.

Will we see an ANZAC day debutant? We've had 11?? (Jezza, you might fact check this) 1st game debutants, the last being Jay Rantall in 2021. (if I could have played in one ANZAC day game, I'd be pretty happy with a 5-game career.)
While I'd expect no personnel changes going into the game, Bytel, Harrison or Sullivan might present the only viable 1st game inclusions should someone pull up lame on the training track or we feel we'll need some fresh legs.

Any five day turnaround presents as a genuine challenge to all players concerned. To be fair, Essendon only played the night before, so they basically have a 5.5 day turnaround. If we’ve rotated and managed our senior players regularly in the first six rounds, I don’t see why we wouldn’t introduce a change or two after a five day break. Pulling Harrison and Sullivan out of the VFL was a telling decision, especially given the seniors had already played ( I’m assuming here both were fit to play )
No player wants to miss this game but it’s important Collingwood continue to play the long game with our senior players. Not sure what to expect but the possibility of some sort of change to the 22 seems like a serious option to me.

We will be favourites and for good reason but it's Anzac Day, anything could happen. Watched them last week and they put the heat on the crows all night, honestly, I don't know how they didn't win by 6 goals. In saying that, crows are a bit flaky and our performance against port was far more impressive. What that all means for Anzac Day is probably nothing, just need to bring the heat for at least 3 quarters should do it.

And beating the better team on the weekend would suggest good form.
