Interestingly, stuff like this wasn’t so uncommon at one time – in 1901, we played the first 8 games of the season in just 36 days (from 4 May to 8 June), including two two-day turnarounds. What would happen most years, so far as I can tell, is that teams would all play on the Saturday before Queen’s Birthday and then all have to back it up again on the Monday! I suppose it’s fair to say the fitness requirements were somewhat lesser back then ... _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Interesting that AFL turned to Tassie for some games to be played there
No was the answer —- AFL has repeatedly not considered them for an AFL
licence for a state that’s produced some footy greats & manifactured two
sides in NSW and Gold Coast _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

If we come away with the 4 points, great, if not then we haven't gifted a win to a top side and we'll be fresher for the following games |
I think we should field an almost reserves type team for Adelaide.
We may win, we may not. It will be a good experiment either way. It will give younger and fringe players a chance to get a game and give our best 22 a break before we meet Melbourne. |
If you were going to field a weakened line up it would make more sense to do it against a strong team where you might have lost anyway. Then play your strongest team against the weak teams to guarantee the four points. |
Can't do that for the period in question, as they don't involve top sides. In either case, can't say I agree with you - if we're going to drop one, better to do it against a side who won't be competing for our ladder position at season's end (and conversely, defeat the team who is in direct competition for a high ladder position) _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing |
