Agar gets another with the second ball of his last over. 8/90, now.

Some spell from Agar, there. He finishes with 3/17 from his 4. Two wickets, two more dots and two singles from that one. 9/91. 103 needed from 30 balls.

Starc cleans up the innings. All out for 96. Australia win by 97 runs.

Brilliant performance all round by the bowlers and the best 3 batsmen. The middle order of Wade, Marsh and Carey were poor again and Carey’s keeping was sloppy. He should never have missed the stumping chance.

Still, a good series victory. Starc has to be POTS - he ruined the first and third games by dismissing QdK in his first over. I don’t expect they will see it that way, though.

I’m sure that the SA supporters will have enjoyed Warner’s and Smith’s knocks, in particular, tonight. Starc is named POTM.

And Finch is POTS. 111 runs in 3 knocks at an average of 37. I’d have given it to Starc or Agar. Finch says he’s embarrassed to get the award because Agar was clearly the POTS.

The spinners came on straight after the power play, with SA 2/50. From 2/57 in the 8th over, SA contrived to lose their last 8 wickets for 39 runs. There was even a mini-collapse within that collapse, though. Their last 5 wickets gathered only 9 runs and lasted just 17 balls, which, I suppose, makes Smith’s unbeaten 20 from the last 6 balls look reasonably competent. And his unbeaten 30 from just 15 quite ok. I note that QdK says that Australia managed to get 20 above par.

More signs of the Death of Wicketkeeping, which is probably related to the Death of Batting.

There was some decent keeping in one of the BBL finals, but it feels rare. The ODI WC keeping was shocking, including Carey's drop against India of a chance that someone with no gloves and possibly both eyes closed might have expected to take.

All of Philippe, Nevill and Peirson on a par with TP, as glovemen.
