It’s difficult to understand the team strategy. Finch and Warner were going at 10 an over. When the partnership was broken, they sent in Wade and then Marsh, neither of whom has the technique to play at this level. By the time smith and Carey reached the crease, there was nothing for it but for them to try to hit the cover off every ball. They are now 5/171, after Carey was bowled. 18.4 gone.

So, the middle 3 batsmen (Wade, Marsh and Carey) were mediocre again. Warner, Finch and Smith put on 142 (excluding extras) from their 89 balls. The other 3 put on just 36 from their 31. Even extras managed 14 from 5 legal deliveries.

Agar only faced 1 ball. I’m not sure why that all adds to 121 deliveries but I’m taking those figures from Cricinfo (I guess the 1 NB was counted).
