Here’s some Australia Day craziness for you all:
https://www.sbs.com.au/news/tanya-plibersek-calls-for-australian-children-to-take-pledge-of-allegiance
Quote: | Senior Labor MP Tanya Plibersek will use an Australia Day address to call for all school students to be taught the Australian citizenship pledge.
Ms Plibersek, who was the Opposition's deputy leader until the May federal election, will make the case for students to make a US-style pledge of allegiance in a speech to be delivered at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday.
The pledge taken by new Australian citizens states: "From this time forward, I pledge my loyalty to Australia and its people, whose democratic beliefs I share, whose rights and liberties I respect, and whose laws I will uphold and obey." |
Hahaha how about no. Who needs John Howard when you’ve got the, er, Labor Left? _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Now the Socialists are taking on a National flavour? Interesting.

Happy Straya Day all.
Local shire council runs an Australia Day event at Toc each year, down on the foreshore looking over the river.
Went for a wander down at 8:30 am, already a few people down there, stage set up for the presentations with a bloke playing music while the crowd builds. Couple of BBQ's going, sausage in bread or bacon & egg roll for a gold coin donation, also juice, tea and coffee.
Decent crowd, over 100 by 9am
Had a bacon & egg roll, listened to the music for a bit then headed back to the house before the presentations started, painted some of the bathroom and drove back to Melbourne. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Awesome!
Spent the day at the beach with both kids 1 boyfriend and a shit load of [snip] aussies! So good! Took 1200 pics hubby towed the kids on a raft with the JetSki did you get a pic? Um only 600, yes really!! Some kids thing fighting I approach the dad, before I speak he says “ whatever they did smack em in the head” me “ no I want to take pics “ him “kids kill each other!” Great shots! Having both girls here was all I needed, the rest a bonus, best Aussie day ever, and now I need 1 more or 1 less! Floating in the raft with the dogs and hubby gave me the one that tipped me over to oblivion! Cheers happy Aussie Day!!! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

^ There, of course, is the rub: Carlton supporters are Australians, too. |

It must be glitch. Fortunately the Constitution didn't address matters of citizenship, so it's a matter of amending the offending act, the Nationality and Citizenship Act 1948.
I suggest that supporting Carlton results in immediate loss of Australian Citizenship, buying a Carlton Membership is punishable by transportation to Antarctica _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
