Yes- but they are both 'best 22' in due course. _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

Great report.
Have you thought about writing a book? You certainly have a way with words. _________________ carn the mighty pies! |

Thank you Mr Winpies.
There have been many great gifts in my life, but the greatest gift I have ever received was when I came to this country and was taught how to read at age five.
As for writing a book, I'd love to write about the Magpies, but there are so many great books already out there: Michael Gleeson has written a few and 'Kill for Collingwood' by Dr Richard Stremski remains an all time favourite.
Im glad you like my meagre offerings, but these two gents put me in the shade as a writer... _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

Did you ever get down to woori yallock to see monkey play.
My dad was on the committee at yarra glen race club for a long time. Many a sunday was spent cruising the Yarra Valley on a sunday mushrooming and then pick a pub for lunch. Wesburn, Warburton. Healesville Wesburn etc. Then back home to watch the second half of the Swans game or the comedy cup or the VFA. The farmers were pretty good. No guns, close the gates and leave a beer box of mushrooms at back door. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

Reefton Hotel and Woori Yallock Hotel were favourites, alas, the Woori is no more...
Never saw Monkey play as I tend to follow 'The Burras' (Warburton-Millgrove FNC) and the Demons (Powelltown FC).
There is much to see and do in the Yarra Valley; and only a hop, skip and a jump from the wineries out toward Healesville- God's own country... _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

Based on your assessments of the training sessions you have seen, which player do you expect to take his game to the next level this year? |
Mr Jezza,
Ive already replied to this one but reflecting on my answer again, I think that Treloar may well elevate to the 'elite' status this year. As Pendles, Beams and Sidey are nearer the end than the beginning, we'll need Taylor Adams, De Goey and Treloar to assume the mantle in the midfield roles.

I think Treloar is there but his disposals let him down: he's just not an A grade or consistent finisher. Did you see anything that could change this view in his training Mr Waburton lad?
I hope he does make the "next level" _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Mr Watt Price Tully- thank you...
Treloar has returned to the fitness levels he enjoyed pre the double-whammy-hammy in 2018.
Treloar has more speed as a result and runs non-stop...
Treloar is now fed by Adams, Sier/Wills and bursts from stoppages Adam Cooney style.
Treloar has made a small and perceptible alteration to his ball-drop which sees him stoop, a-la-Geoff Raines, so that the distance the ball travels is reduced and he is able to punch the ball more crisply- this gives the ball a flatter trajectory to target.
Treloar looks 'happy' on the track- and primed to go in 2020... _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

Thank you good sir for your detailed response to my query regarding Treloars disposal. As my late grandmother (she was never on time) used to say "from your lips to god's ears". _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Part of the reason for Treloar's poor disposal efficiency was the fact he was playing too much inside footy, mostly because of circumstances beyond his control.
He always looked better when he was playing on the outside and someone such as Wills or Sier were playing their regular inside roles.
Thank you Lad for the further response to my earlier question. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |
