Mankad in Pakistan vs. Afghanistan.

I was captaining a game in the Ringwood District comp and a bloke hit a ball straight to me me at short mid off and I threw the stumps down. Not out out he made it. Happened 4 balls later and I asked how. Turned out the non striker was some 5 metres out of his crease when the bowler released and flying down so they could get bonus points. My bowler stopped and 2 blokes were at the same end and I said to the bowler knock the bails off. All hell broke loose. Where is my warning. A Paid umpire was at the top oval and said "You do that your problem" I was reported for unsportsmanslike conduct by the opposition. Tribunal chairman said to the batsman. "If you cheat, which you clearly did, bad luck. Your club is fined for wasting our time".

they got to the finals and were massacred by the umpires.

Australia's 5th-place playoff against the West Indies was a no result, so the WIndies finished 5th and Australia 6th. The rain was a bit of a pity - Australia put on 8/319 and had their opposition 1/62, needing nearly 7 an over, when the rain set in.

A fitting end to a farcical tournament by Oz. It'll be interesting to see what punishments await half of them when they return home.

In Jake's case, batting at 5 or 6 for Victoria, soon enough.

I don't think they intend to punish Jake for getting attacked by a monkey. The monkey has punished him enough already.

I wonder what his opponents will say.

Teen cricketers set to dodge penalty for 'casual racism' posts

https://www.theage.com.au/sport/cricket/teen-cricketers-set-to-dodge-penalty-for-casual-racism-posts-20200210-p53zhv.html

"Sources familiar with the situation told The Age and Sydney Morning Herald that the players involved - Lachlan Hearne, Sam Fanning, Tanveer Sangha, Ollie Davies and Liam Scott - had been spoken to by CA officialdom in Sydney on Monday, with a focus on educating them about why what they did was wrong, and the pitfalls of social media.

A source also said the players in question would head back to their respective states to address other young players about what the experience had taught them.

The five players technically have the ability to contest the code of conduct charges against them but given there are no fines nor suspensions involved that looms as unlikely."
