Randwick Sydney East was 125 at 11am.
Regarding the "not very useful" 24-hour average, aqicn.org says:
"Note that the NSW Environment agency only reports the PM2.5 level as a 24 hour average, which can make it really difficult to find out what the actual air quality is in real time. However, since visibility is also reported as a 1 hour average, and it is a much better metric for determining the real time quality of the air, the AQI calculation has been updated to take into account the visibility."
"Visibility" was 63 at 11am.

Why don’t they go to Bunnings and buy a mask like everybody else? |

I have wondered whether it's possible to play in a mask. Just one of those 3M ones.
I would not want to exercise when the AQI is 125.

Cummins gets Taylor LBW. Review.
Umpire's call on impact. It stays out. |

And that’s the end of the NZ batting. The Soon To Be Crowned Best Australian Fast Bowler Ever is ruining another Test.
It’s ridiculous that was “umpire’s call” - it was plainly crashing into the off stump. |

Australia then fail to review on an lbw that was hitting the stumps and Lyon misses out on a wicket. |

It seems I was a harsh judge. The NZers are already 195 and still have as many as 4 wickets in hand. |

Umpire's call was for impact line, not for hitting stumps. _________________ Cheers big ears |

Great for Lyon the 5 for he’s now on the honours board at SCG means he’s got a 5 for at every test venue in Australia not sure Bellerive though excellent performance |

The air was looking quite hazy Sunday afternoon. Randwick Sydney East had AQI (PM2.5) 69, Visibility 24 at 6am today.
It's nice that NZ's four wicketkeepers batted in pairs, opening and late order.
Oz's two wicketkeepers did not bat together... but maybe they will today.
Phillips rode his luck to a 50, dropped twice and caught off a Pattinson no ball. Earlier, Pattinson was pulled with ease for 4 in front of square by Raval. The speeds of the Oz fast bowlers look quite low. The name Phillips and his wicketkeeping thing remind me of Wayne Phillips. Should Oz have made him keep wicket in the 80s, and was that harmful to him?
Burns and Warner looked intent on running Burns out. Burns had to dive for his crease twice in two balls. A direct hit on the first one would probably have made his dive in vain. Burns also survived a grubber. |
