Pretty good innings, I admit I don’t remember much about his time in government, except how it ended, but not many seem to have a bad word about him. RIP., and thoughts to his family, never a good time to lose someone, but right on Christmas ....

Growing up in NSW, I wasn't aware of all the good stuff he did, I caught the tail end of the government when everything turned to shite and Joan got pushed into the seat.

Sounds like a genuinely decent bloke who did a lot of positive reform.
