There’s an article in Herald (i would cut & paste if I could) on Vic Metro AFL Academy hub list and there’s a kid on it called Nick Daicos
Might interest other Nicksters _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

I remember watching Peter very early on in the Seniors, during one of our then routine thrashings of St Kilda. A guy standing near me said that we should watch out for (was it) Victor, who was even better. |

I watched a bit of Will Kelly when he played against the dragons and had Ben King on two separate occasions. Kelly got hold of him the first time and King got him in the rematch ( supposedly Kelly’s ankle wasn’t right )
I was also impressed with the job Kelly did on Lukosis in the the final of U18 championships.
The King twins and Lukosis are exceptional talents and for Kelly to more than hold his own against those very early picks in the draft is a very positive sign.
I would be optimistic Kelly would be a regular fixture by 2021 ( injury aside ) |

Cheers pies16 appreciate the insight into the younger players
Here in Queensland Foxtel gives us some decent coverage but nothing like seeing players live
I saw Kelly a couple times in games he looked more than decent dealing with the supposed guns high pick draft candidates
He struck me as a old style back read the play well and didn’t let his man get long leads at the ball and more than handy in the body work
Let’s hope his development continues
I hope Dunn spends some time with him |

And there’s a point—seeing that Justin Longmuir has built a solid defence for us i feel that if Dunn does retire from playing he can be kept at the club as an assistant to Budda in defence coaching _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Thanks Qld.
In a couple years time, the King twins and Lukosis will be the next generation of quality KPFs. Quick, agile and at 200cm plus. If you can’t go with these guys, they will cut up the opposition. It gave me a lot of confidence to see Kelly kill most of the contests against these guys. He’s quick off the mark and he does read the play well. His first instinct is to punch but as his confidence grows he will go for his marks and take the game on. I was surprised his name wasn’t called out earlier in the draft, particularly compared to some who were called before him.
I just hope that hamstring injury doesn’t come back to haunt him, we need all our young blokes getting games into them ..... at any level. |
