That score doesn't mean much to me. What does is it even mean? |

The way the list is being managed. Not trading, just to appease the supporters who want change for the sake of change is not the way to instill belief in the group.
Liverpool have squllions but the squad still has to be money managed. Klopp doesnt believe in bringing in superstar players if it doesnt fit within the team values. He believes in keeping the young stars hungry and thinking they can add to the team, creating competition from all angles.
So when you have a stable squad with little change it lets the players know that they are valued. It creates strong bonds and a mateship that money cant buy. |

Yep Van Dijk and Allison were big but the rest were bought with reasonable and astute buying.
It is a bit rich comparing the two money wise but Klopp has a philosophy of building from within and developing players by giving them belief. Hes a hugger too and I cant help comparing Klopp and Buckley everytime I see them hug their players. Its not much but its something. |
You're absolutely right there, but I also wish that Bucks would take a leaf out of Klopp's book and explicitly embrace the fans and urge them to make the MCG a cauldron for visiting teams, so that our support base becomes a genuine weapon on game day. That connection, dare I say love, between Klopp and Liverpool fans, is authentic, rather than some artificially created marketing ploy, all too common in the AFL these days. |
Pochettino is very passionate and look where his team is now.
As for "astute buying" (mp), people say that but their payroll is still huge. |

I think it means....of the gaps we had in the team, our trade period can be scored 5/10 in terms of how effective it was in filling those gaps.
I would have rated it 3/10 as we missed on a key forward and midfield speed. We only ticked the box on a ruckman.
Maybe the 5/10 is 2 added points for freeing up cap space for Grundy and JDG. |

^ you would have rated it 3 out of 10 had we got the first 10 draft picks, secured Dangerfield and the other Cameron _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

We were hamstrung (I use the word advisedly) from the outset unfortunately. However we do have a few players to look forward to. They include (and not limited to):
* The two Irish recruits getting a preseason under their belts
* The basket ball recruit who was considered top 10 -15 when he was at drafting age
* The emergence of Will Kelly (SON)
* The emergence of Atu Bosanova
* The (hopeful) injury free run with Nathan Murphy
* Another preseason for young Daicos
* A preseason for WHE
* A preseason for De Goey
* The addition of one Thomas Langdon
* The addition of a geniune ruckman (Cameron) and
* Another preseason for Stephenson _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Just journos scoring everyone.
WCE making the biggest impact to their list. Saints doing well, but a little overrated because they made so many moves. Apart from Hill, they wont make a massive change. Doggies filling KPP spots, we should be doing that. Bruce for a pick like that... sheesh.
Anyway, everyone else made minor moves and the whole trade period was a fail for the AFL. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Doggies look scary with the addition of the Saints forward: gives them 3 good marking talls in the forward line: Naughton, Schache and the Sainter.
For St Kilda add the skill of Hill combined with pre-existing talent (including the unheralded King) then provided limited injuries, given their ladder postion and a new coach then there is no reason why they can't make finals in 2020 _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |
