It's evident that our salary cap issues made him the sacrificial lamb. |
DTM will have a fit when he sees the terms of this "trade". |

Got the ruckman for nothing. Improved our hand for next year I guess.
We never saw the best of Aish, hope he can find something more out west. _________________ The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after. |

Jezza's right. Aish is the sacrificial lamb. This was the year we HAD to win the flag folks. It's all downhill from here I'm afraid.
Farewell Aishy. |

As good a deal we could have expected in the circumstances.
The future second alongside our own should cover our academy player should he prove worthy of a 1st round bid and allow us to use that 1st round in next years trade period.
We could potentially look to trade it for say Gold Coasts pick 15 this year if someone we really liked was still available. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

It's hard to come up with an explanation other than that we overpay our players and it comes back to bite us. |

My gut feeling is to agree with you.
Feeling decidedly underwhelmed at the moment.
If we as usual get about 3-4 major injuries to our top 15 players early on in the season, I cant see us going uphill. Really cant. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine! |

Well that felt weird. We lost Aish for something that might be nothing, and we still have my whipping boy on the list, Ben Crocker. |

Maybe no one else wanted him?
Top chance to be delisted I think. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine! |

My 2 cents worth:
If my calculations are correct, Aish played 53% of games over 4 seasons with us (50 out of a possible 94 games).
Most of his injuries were contact (concussion, PCL, shoulders) and he spent a lot of time in rehab. He wasn't a durable player, unfortunately.
No question we have had injury woes for the better part of a decade now, so although it hurts to lose a guy that clearly bleeds black and white, I am trying to think pragmatically.
Wouldn't surprise me if the Club simply is putting less priority on re-signing injury-prone players such as Aishy. |

Feels weird to farewell him this early in his career.
It doesn't feel that long ago when we traded him in and there was excitement around his untapped potential. He arrived at the same time as Treloar and Howe. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Yet they re-sign Reid? _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine! |

Think Ned Guy is ruthless in his approach and does see the forest despite the trees in his view
He’s managed to navigate De Goey and Elliott to a good place—the happy state that we have around the place will have to keep that hunger for a flag _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Hardly a salary cap dump! We got essentially got a future second rd draft pick with the flip flops marginally diluting that which is a great outcome for us. _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |
