He was pretty casual about it on the news tonight, not very fussed. |

Middle of the road player, hopefully we make a good deal with Freo, there's been a few (with the dockers) that worked out ok _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

Rubbish. We are due for some injury luck and C grade players like Aish are expendable in the pursuit of maximising superstar quotas on our list. |
oh, we are due for some injury luck?? I didn't know that. That changes everything. silly me..... _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

Wouldn't surprise if it was only a nominal 4th round selection to get Aish a new home and his salary off our books for next year and beyond. |
Better of Keeping Him then getting a Future 3rd Round Pick |
Not if our primary motivation is to open up cap space to better enable our ability to retain Grundy, de Goey and Moore.

Based on what???
Ned Guy has said we want to improve our draft position in this year's draft. He's said this. Surely that's our motivation, not salary cap.
This is the perfect case study in the media saying something often enough, without any evidence, and it then becoming viewed as fact.
We - don't - actually - know - how - tight - our - salary - cap - is.
The media are speculating. Dig deeper and you'll see we have plenty of wiggle room next year due to the sheer number of other players coming out of contract, many of whom won't be on more money in 2021 than 2020 - if they're still there in 2021.
Aish played in the Grand Final. He played in the prelim. He was a first round draft pick, and we effectively gave away a first round pick to get him from Brisbane. While I agree he's probably dispensable, that's because our list is better than Freo's. He plays in the back 6 because our midfield is so strong but he could play in the middle at other clubs as well as a defender. He's still a valuable player if put on the market.
Freo want him, they're offering him a three year deal, it's being driven by their newly appointed coach. Based on this he's arguable worth pick 22 alone.
Fourth round is laughable.
IF that is what we end up getting for him, then that really is evidence of our salary cap problem. We'll know in 7 hours. |

I misread this as CAR space, instead of cap space. |

What do we get in return?
I'll miss Aish, when he got a good run at it he was a very good and reliable defender, great mark for his size, dependable, good kick and cool under pressure (but not a great kick for goal)
Longmuir knows what he is doing _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Aish was always great with younger fans. I was one of the ppl that liked the way he played. He has a light frame, and to play AFL with a light frame is tough. He is tough. My father disagrees. He'll be happy.
But I'll miss having him at the club. Makes 2018 hurt a little bit more. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |
