You mean 2014 and 2015 then.

The rest of the injuries are all just normal stuff!!! |
No one knows what's "normal". There are many normal and abnormal injuries at Collingwood. It sounds like some want to ignore abnormal stuff because it's abnormal, and some want to ignore normal stuff because it's normal. |

When Eddie is passionate about something particular to Collingwood, things tend to happen. But in this case he seems to be dismissive of this subject |
Scary. |

This year we had 19 players on our playing list miss 5 or more games.
However there are a group of players that are regularly injured each year. Over the past 4 years:
Elliott has missed 61 games as a result of injury
Scharenberg has missed 56 games as a result of injury
Wells missed 54 games as a result of injury (in 3 years)
Langdon has missed 46 games as a result of injury
Reid has missed 43 games as a result of injury
Aish has missed 38 games as a result of injury
Dunn has missed 36 games as a result of injury (in 2 years)
Moore has missed 30 games as a result of injury
De Goey has missed 24 games as a result of injury |
That's a worry, isn't it? Of course, one on that list has retired, and one or more could join him or be traded, but 19 players missing 5+ games in a year sounds just bad. 19 is half of a senior list. |

FFS peoples, the club is just as concerned at injuries as we are, and they don't need petitions from those who know nothing about the facts at play, advising them what to do about it. |
Except people are paying big membership dollars to see success at the club. It can become so easy to view your CFC membership as discretionary spending. |
I don't see my membership as discretionary spending especially as I have 3 memberships to pay for and budget for it with other things that are due at this time of year.
I pay my membership to support the club and have a reserved seat at home games.

Yep, but the enjoyment sure takes a hit when we continually can't get our best team on the park - and made even worse when we see how teams with few injuries perform (the despair of what could have been) _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing |

It may be Eddie just saying that externally - but why wouldn't he try to put the supporters' minds at ease by admitting there is a specific problem at Collingwood?
The first step in addressing a problem is acknowledging there is one, and the club (in particular, Eddie) does not appear to be doing that. |
Perhaps you've nailed the problem there mate. Eddie has to go. This club needs to be turned upside down if it's ever going to win another flag. Eddie's problem is the need to be loved by everyone. We need a ruthless bastard to head up a ruthless club. We're pussy cats at the moment. |

The club's acting like the AFL about this, not admitting there have been mistakes or there's a problem. Which is disappointing. We're not accusing the club of not doing anything -- because we all know they have been trying to figure this out, with Reid, Moore, Elliot, JDG. Some of our injuries have been just bad luck (shoulders, knees). GWS had a similar injury run to us (but their second tier back up players are top draft picks). All Eddie had to say was, "I appreciate our the passion of our fans and their concern. Please trust the club that we're doing everything we can to ensure we have the best players on the park and not in the rooms." It's a bit of bullshit, but it'd be nice to hear. Not the attitude Eddie had on radio when asked about the letter. |

^^^ AA Step 1:
"We admit we are powerless over alcohol—that our lives have become unmanageable."
"The 1st step of AA is one of the most difficult for people to take. Whether you are attempting to get sober for the first time or you are returning to sobriety after a relapse, it can be scary or embarrassing to admit that you are unable to stop drinking on your own." |

"Mental barriers and a lack of personal responsibility can cause major challenges at this stage. Many participants have spent a long amount of time justifying their behavior and must focus extremely hard on being completely honest with themselves to gain the benefits of step 4." |

AA Step 5:
"Admit to a Higher Power, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs."
"Step 5 requires not only that we admit to ourselves the exact nature of our wrongs, but that we embark on an honest self-evaluation of our faults. This part of the fifth step helps to remove your egoism and helps to minimize your fear." |
