I feel like it’s not too early to have a go at this. Here’s what I’ve come up with.
1. Geelong 19–3
2. West Coast 18–4
3. GWS 16–6
4. Collingwood 16–6
5. Adelaide 15–7
6. Brisbane 14–8
7. Port Adelaide 13–9
8. Fremantle 12–10
9. Richmond 12–10
10. Sydney 11–11
11. Essendon 10–12
12. North 9–13
13. Hawthorn 7–15
14. Melbourne 7–15
15. Western Bulldogs 6–16
16. St. Kilda 6–16
17. Carlton 4–18
18. Gold Coast 3–19
We really don’t have much margin for error – in my predictor, Adelaide finish just one game behind with a higher percentage. Maybe I’m being too generous to West Coast, but they have a pretty easy draw from here. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

For a moment, I confused this with the "form ladder" thread.
Memo: this is not the form ladder. |

Eagles will not win all their remaining games. Cmon.
For us the losses I think we will have are Eagles and maybe Giants. Should be ok in the rest. |

You’re probably right, but their only really challenging matches remaining are against Fremantle, us at Optus, Adelaide at Optus and Richmond at the MCG. Even though they’re bound to drop one at some point, you’d have to think they’ll start favourites in all of those. And they get Naitanui back soon. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

From this thread...

On the 2nd of June. After our loss to Freo in round 11.
Skids wrote: | To finish top 4 after the round completed.
Pies & GWS $1.17
WCE $1.43 (hope you got the $1.70 )
Tigers $2.40
Lions $5.25
Crows $7
Port & Freo $8.50
Out of the remaining rounds the top 4 at present play;
Cats - Play 4 other teams currently in the top 8 - Richmond (a), Port (a), Crows (h) & Lions (a) 2 interstate
GWS - Play 5 other teams currently in the top 8 - Crows (a), Lions (h), Tigers (a), PIES (h) & Port (a) 3 interstate
PIES - Play 4 - WCE (a), GWS (a), Tigers (h), Crows (a) 3 interstate
WCE - Play 3 - PIES (h), Crows (h) & Tigers (a) 1 interstate
Brisbane play 4, 3 of those away from the GABBA.
Crows play 6 (including all of the current top 4), 2 interstate
Port play 5, 2 interstate
Freo play 4, 1 interstate.
I think the top 4 won't change, just the order. Cats will finish 1st. We must win against GWS & WCE to have any chance of top 2. WCE also play 3 of the bottom 4 in the run home.
3rd is a nightmare as it will mean our first final would be in Perth or Sydney. |
There's been one change to the top 8 since then - Tigers OUT, Freo IN.
Current prices for top 4;
Cats - Suspended
Pies - $1.10
GWS - $1,22
WCE - $1.57 *Still way overs IMO... and, if we don't beat them next time, it's guna be deja vu with a first final in Perth. The classic '8 point game'!
Crows - $2.25
Lions & Tigers - $5.50
Upwards others. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count.

The only game they're not the favourite is v Tigers.
We need Freo to get the job done against them.
We are the underdogs in 2 of our remaining games, GWS & WCE.
If the bookies are right, % will decide where we play our first final. Won't that upset the "% doesn't matter" flat earthers. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

Richmond in 9th would be sensational.
As would Carlton finishing last again. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Things looking a little less optimistic now. I reckon we have to win at least three of our games against West Coast, GWS, Richmond, Adelaide and Essendon to make the top 4 (I have us beating Adelaide but losing the rest).
1. Geelong 18–4
2. West Coast 17–5
3. Richmond 16–6
4. GWS 15–7
5. Collingwood 13–9
6. Essendon 13–9
7. Port Adelaide 12–10
8. Brisbane 12–10
9. Adelaide 12–10
10. Western Bulldogs 12–10
11. Hawthorn 10–12
12. North Melbourne 10–12
13. Sydney 9–13
14. Fremantle 9–13
15. Carlton 6–16
16. St. Kilda 6–16
17. Melbourne 5–17
18. Gold Coast 3–19 _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

7. Richmond
8. Port
9. Essendon
10. Fremantle
11. NM
12. WB
13. Sydney
14. Hawthorn
15. St Kilda
16. Melbourne
17. Carlton
18. GC |

well, if we can't beat WCE, GWS and Richmond in the H&A, what the point making the finals and losing to them there.
If we lose the next three, then I'd rather us lose every game and miss the 8 altogether. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

If that happens we should be recruiting another coach! _________________ The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after. |
