While this comes as no surprise, its still sad the see his time at the Pies come to an end. Goldy has been a great servant to the club and I wish him and his family all the best. Shame he is not staying around, I'm sure he would have been great around the club. |

Yes,it really is sad to see him retire.Goldsack was always a favourite of mine.A great competitor,a great clubman and an even better person. He was first class in every way.I just wish the club had given him a send off game.Surely he could have played against Essendon to give him a decent send off?We never seem to do that with our players, unlike other clubs who do it so well. |

The Sack.
My favourite player.
Always gave his all for the club. Was such a tough player and such a nice guy.
Always loved him in the team because you knew you were going to get 100% every time. The way he came back last year after the ACL was incredible. Would have been a dream to send him off with another flag. Is there any chance of a late finals call up??
Thanks for a great career in the black and white Goldy.

What a great team man. We hear a lot of negatives about our club, but we must be doing something right to have players like Goldy associated with us for so long. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

With our luck, there still may very well be a final curtain-call for this legend...

I heard him say the other night hes ready to play Finals, if called upon ? Anyway, a real workhorse, solid, reliable, took no shit, rarely played a bad game, never beaten, u need guys like him to win flags, a very solid and dependable player. All the best to him. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

The man should be honoured with a perpetual medal at the B&F for the player who embodies intensity and never give up. I reckon he's played every position on the ground, including ruck (10 career hitouts) and never gave less than 100% effort.
In the early part of his career he was like a hunting dog the way he chased and tackled before it became fashionable.
If there is a player who would epitomise what we would want the Collingwood football club to stand for, it's Goldy.
Relentless effort, great team man, humble. Just a class act on and off the field. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
