Thomas and Varcoe would be very unlucky to lose their spots, but they would be replaced by clearly better players.

Yep, I'd like to see that as well! Can't trust Moore, and the others are just better players

Roughead to match up with Hawkins. Shaz, Magden or Moore for Ratsak?
Sidey, JDG and Stevo must play. The pig must devour Duckwood!

Magden won't be out, he's been pretty good IMO and with Moore doubtful, we don't have too many other options.

Stevo, JDG, Wells & Sidey are all in... who goes out? Tough call.

Our disposal efficiency seems to have improved over the last 2 weeks.
I haven’t seen the stats, just perceived to be a lot better moving it by foot. Thoughts? Could have a lot to do with the opposition, but we seemed to take the game on s bit more.
Finals pressure will be a lot different, though I think it’s a good sign from us.

Wells wouldn’t have been put through a VFL game if we didn’t seriously think he could play a role come finals. His 3 first half goals after a year out of the game up there in Sydney, and his multiple score assists that first hour, proved to me that if he pulls up fresh from his VFL outing, he plays. You don’t keep potential difference-makers like Wells sitting in the stands during a finals series, especially with a double chance. Nope, you roll the dice.

I have serious doubts though about JDG. Something tells me he won’t play week one, and will be held back for week two or the prelim.

I get the feeling the Moore situation isn’t as bad as being made out. He plays a part in this finals series for mine. If not week one, definitely week two. He reckons he feels fine and it mighta been more precautionary than anything on Friday night.

What's the deal with Moore's hamstrings?Did he have any scans to prove whether he did strain them or not?We haven't heard anything about this in the last couple of days.

Pretty damn good forward line, de goey, Elliott, Stephenson, Mihochek, and WHE, Varks, that's a pussy cat nightmare for them, right there. !!

Hardly nothing. It's what ever team strives for - all season.

Well they'd want to start leading to strategic spots around F50, and simply not haphazardly bomb ball to goal face, otherwise Taylor, Stewart and Blicavs will swallow the lot. Lower the eyes, blokes....

"NOW THAT Geelong is assured of a top-two spot and a resultant home qualifying final, the Cats face the challenge of finally burying their post-bye curse.

Geelong has a dreadful record the week after a bye, losing their past nine games immediately following a mid-season break, and also succumbing after their past two pre-finals byes.

The Cats' only victory in this 12-game sequence over the past eight years came after the inaugural pre-finals bye in 2016, when they pipped Hawthorn by two points in a qualifying final."

FWIW, here's the side I'd like to see line up against the pussies. I'm assuming Moore is out and that the club is likely to stick with Madgen.

Out: Moore (inj), Noble (unlucky), Varcoe (unlucky)

In: Sidey, Stephenson, de Goey

Please return Roughead to defence and use a combination of Mihocek and/or Wills for very brief relieving spells in the ruck. I would like to have found a spot for Wells, but right now, both Brown and Thomas deserve to hold their spots. Their finals form will decide whether they hold their spots going forward.

B: Greenwood Roughead Scharenberg

HB: Maynard Howe Crisp

C: Sidey Pendles Phillips

HF: de Goey Mihocek WHE

F: Elliott Stephenson Thomas

FOLL: Grundy, Wills, Treloar

IC: Adams, Madgen, Brown, Mayne
