Amazing scores. England v. Ireland only Test.

England was bundled out for just 85, with Tim Murtagh taking 5/13 from 9 overs. Root, Ali, Woakes and Bairstow got 2runs between them.

Ireland now lead on the first innings, with 8 wickets in hand.

Ireland all out 207.
6 batsmen were bowled, 1 LBW.

There's still enough time in the day for one over of England's second innings.

It could be a 2-day Test. I can't see it being a 5-day Test.

Ireland made 207 and England was 0/0 at Stumps, so Ireland lead by 122 on the first innings.

Root has just got himself out!

England 7/239.

Reports say there is nothing "wrong" with the pitch. This is just pathetic batting. Root lasted long enough to have time to run out his batting partner, Denley.

Flat-track bully Bairstow's innings was "identical"* to his first one: a 6-ball duck. Smile
(Flat-track bully Roy of course scored 72 more runs than he should have, but was dismissed in highly predictable manner, bowled through the gate.)

* Not identical in the fine print: out to a different bowler, and LBW this time instead of bowled.

The tail is wagging, or at least some parts of it.

England 9/295.

The lead is around what is thought to be difficult for Ireland. Ireland wouldn't want the last pair to add another 30+ runs.

On cricinfo, there is discussion about the captaincy. They want Root replaced by Stokes. Shocked
Do these Englishmen comprehend exactly what Stokes did in Bristol?
