I agree. Alot of truth in this. I think we changed our playing style to avoid the injury crisis we had last year. The irony is: we still have the injury crisis (even worse), but are playing with far less vigour and intensity.

I reckon this is valid point MTTM. Getting a few to play more like Levi would be help!! That frontal assault on Goldstein was pure G and D!

I’m not angry just sad. Sad because we were 5 pts from winning a flag last year. Sad that we most likely won’t get another chance this year.

That was just an awful and frankly embarrassing display tonight. Our forward line is non existent. Mids thrashed. Full credit to North. They were more hungry and desperate. We were out muscled. They were great.

We might win one out of our next four games. Personally I think top 4 is shot.

We need to get back to hunting the opposition. Lately we have been too passive, allowing the opposition too much time and space waiting for turnovers (playing bruise-free if you will). Tonight we were hunted and we didn't bite back. You have to be aggressive whether you like it or not.

True. No aggression. We looked disinterested tonight. There wouldn’t be one team that fears us

I looked at Cats last night.
Danger selwood kelly and ablett are really really strong.
There is noone in our midfield with that strength.

Bruise free football coupled with incredibly poor disposal is a recipe for disaster. Added to this, our much touted midfield is quickly becoming the greatest joke in sport.

Spot on.

It’s disappointing that once again we didn’t capitalise when we had the ascendancy.

It seems to be the story of Collingwood.

This game is the fork in the road for this season.
We will either bounce back with a vengeance or we will limp to the line with not much more than a whimper.

It was very much like the 39 points we put up against Essendon in round 17 2014.

We've had a few games around 40 points but recently, we scored 45 Vs Geelong in round 8 last year in a 21 point loss.

Well I was too ill to go tonight. But I was there in 2014. The following day was horrific at work. I can imagine this week will be similar. Although I dont think there's any North supporters there.

It will be fine. North has no supporters.

Our celebrity midfield are way above their station. Unaccountable and soft, from the captain down. Get your hands dirty.

I really, really hope I'm wrong swooper, but I've had that feeling for a while .... that I don't think we'll get there this year. Last season was pure magic from us and still the big prize eluded us. It was too much to expect to think we could do it all again. As I said, I hope I'm very wrong!

Still, it's really an odd season. If any given team gets a run on, unlikely results are produced. Only the Cats seem to be continually "starring" at the moment and it's still a long way to September. Smile

I just want us to get our mojo back and play a few good games. I reckon we could manage that. Wink

Our season in a nutshell. Doesn’t make for pleasant reading:

1. GEEL (L) Horrible
2. RICH (W) Mostly excellent
3. WC (L) Mostly rubbish
4. WB (W) Horrid until last 10 mins
5. @ BRIS (W) Great all game
6. ESS (W) Great first half only
7. PORT (W) Played great for 3 of 4 quarters
8. CARL (W) Horrible until 4th qtr
9. STK (W) Very poor until 4th qtr onslaught
10. SYD (W) Just OK, poor goal kicking
11. FRE (L) Disgusting
12. MELB (W) Pretty good but unconvincing
13. WB (W) Bad for most of the game
14. NM (L) Disgusting

Agreed with your summation but I think we were poor against Sydney. Carlton we were poor until like 10 mins to go as well. Against Melbourne we were poor too and lucky they chopped the footy consistently.

This has been coming for a few weeks. Something is rotten in Denmark.

Cox is currently a liability and playing 2 dwarfs in Brown and Daics is suicidal.

Not sure where we go from here, but I fear it could get a lot worse. 😞😥

So we replace my “Just OK” and “Petty good but unconvincing” for the Seans and Demons games with “Poor” and “Poor”. Jesus. How the hell are we actually second after 14 games???

Agree, RB. And your quote from Hamlet was precisely what I had been thinking as well. Playing Daicos and Brown together is untenable. But, due to the injury crisis now engulfing us, what else can we do??
