I'm thinking it's that shit hole of a football stadium and we don't have to play there again this year.

Has a bit to do with it I reckon. We play much better usually on the wider expanses of the G. It's easier to get bottled up at Marvel.

They monstered us physically. I think we must consider this due to a couple of objective factors:
a) No Tay Adams, and after half time no Brayden Sier, meaning that our midfield was denuded of physical presence.
b) Josh Daicos and Callum Brown were overawed by the physical brutality that NM unleashed. We were effectively 4 players down (if you add both Sier and Reid). This lack of midfield drive was the fundamental reason why we could not compete. Our forward line looks ordinary when our midfield is so subdued as tonight.
c) Our forward structure and potency was undermined by the absence of Reid, but more importantly, the absence of Jaidyn Stephenson is more deadly than we had estimated.

But, it is worrying that physicality such as this can so much shell shock our team. We looked a shadow of the team that played finals last year.

Yep
Physically smashed.
You need 5 things in footy.
Height, Skill, Strength, Pace and Heart.
We were short on all, in particular strength and pace.
Lacked a little bit of heart also

I can't remember the last time we played that bad. Beaten everywhere.
Imagine if they kicked straight.

Big 4 weeks ahead.

Why didn't the pig tag cunnington???
Thomas has no impact.
Ditto daicos varcoe cox brown and sidey.
The midfield were thrashed.
The most scary thing was the way north midfield
just brushed off any tackles with impunity.
It wasn't until the last quarter that bux threw the side around.
Too late bux.
Almost certain we cant win this year.
I saw the vfl today ..... not much there except a few kids.
Who haven't got afl bodies yet.
And for those people who said that we had
collected the greatest midfield ever.
Well that is the greatest joke of all time

Are you forgetting that we have a "Couple "??Of players out as Johnathon Brown informed us?Lost Reid virtually straight up, Sier got cleaned up in the first ten minutes and was useless and went off at half time. Howe, Dunne ,Langdon, Adams,Wills,Wells,Elliot, Stephenson, Beams,Goldsack and a couple of extras who aren't regular senior players. So have a bit of a think about how these players are going. We're still second on the ladder and next week we butter up again and see what we're made of.

Biggest losing margin in three years.

Our lowest score for 24 years according to the AFL website.

Pretty much sums up that performance.

We've been fortunate that for most of the season one great quarter has been enough.

We've had some injury excuse but our performances for the main haven't lived up to the highs of last season or expectations they created for this year.

Given that we have seemingly made some alterations to our game plan of last season the question of why at least needs to be asked of Bucks.

It was the best we've ever looked under him.

We should have lost last week.

With in game injuries tonight the cracks finally became a chasm and we had nowhere left to hide.

It might prove to be the tonic required but only time will tell.

If the time for tough talking was last week then it's time to send a message at selection now even if it costs us in the short term handing a few players a debut.

I started a whole thread quite some time back about expectations. Nothing stays the same and anyone who expects it will - coaches, players, supporters are dicing with disappointment.

We were consistent, 9, 12, 7 & 9.
A very even 4 quarter effort.
