Fair Point but I would not say it was as bad as Media made it sound.
We have Upped our Offer but not as much I think the Media makes it sound _________________ I am Da Man |

The media wouldn't know if a bus was up them until the driver blew his horn and the passengers started to get off. Negotiation 101 - start off from a ridiculous position and allow yourself to be worked towards your pre-selected position, or close to it. |

Ideally, you also know your own non negotiables and what you're prepared to give away and anticipate the other parties so you can find common ground and horse trade. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

The thing I always found fascinating in media coverage was the oxymoronic reports saying he is looking to head home to Adelaide and then in the next paragraph, how he was seeking 7 years to stay at Collingwood... |

Part truth part negotiation.
He likes it at Collingwood and wants to stay, with a 7 year deal to see out his career.
He probably intends to go back to Adelaide and Family at some stage.
What he was signalling was he wasn't going to another Melbourne club, it was Collingwood or SA _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

^^^ That's certainly the logical representation of what has come from the Grundy camp. The media though didn't seem to make this connection, separating the 2 statements and sensationalising it as 'Grundy want to head home - Adelaide in box seat', and '7 years or bad luck Pies'... all in the same article. I shouldn't be surprised though - the truth of the matter often gets in the way of a headline. |

^Reid, Varcoe. Broomhead. Let's see if we can get their threads to 200 pages. Or maybe we could start a "Salary cap issues have costs us Ben Crocker" thread? |

We wont have to worry about those guys until the very end, if at all.
Pendles will stay too.
Will be interesting to see when/if JDG and Moore sign and who does first. The sooner the better. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Lachie Whitfield just signed a 7 year deal with GWS (as did Coniglio in August).
I'm sure the media will dub it as a stroke of genius by the management at GWS. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |
