Presumably we wouldn't be restricted by a salary cap. And there wouldn't be screeching fans outside your window telling you that you're a champion. But we could have problems if you reckon two or three years is "years of service" that on its own deserves a medal.

This is the Brodie Grundy thread. If you don't think 7 years of service, consecutive All Australians and B&Fs doesn't "deserve a medal" of a more generous contract, I stand by my assertion that I wouldn't want you as a boss.

Cool. I'll take your avoidance of the point I made that Grundy is entitled to a more generous contract as an indication that it's pretty hard to argue against.

Whether Collingwood decide he's worth it, given the constraints such as the salary cap, is yet to be seen. But Grundy is within his rights to think that he is.

I don't know what Grundy is "worth". Nor do I know what he wants.

I don't think adding to the hysteria is helpful. I don't say too much about individual players, because I worry about the effect of online comments on their mental health.

If you're concerned for their mental health, which is a legitimate concern and one that we should all be aware of, you could do worse than refraining from implying that they are greedy and selfish.
