Agree with those who have said that this loss might have been a necessary evil. Our ball skills today were deplorable. We could not hit targets by hand or by foot. The entire team was unable to handle the ball cleanly. Our ball movement was clearly inferior to Fremantle's. They ran the ball through the corridor brilliantly at times, which we never did today. It was a very poor day for us, and a timely signal that the level we have been playing at is not satisfactory.

Some rather strange mis-readings of this game.

It was this simple. We made multiple mistakes. They made few. Actually, I'm surprised we only lost by 4 points.

They looked faster, bigger and had 4 more scoring shots.

Regardless of how we played, that score review wasn't a bad decision or a mistake. That was a complete failure of a system put in place specifically to avoid that problem.

Unforgivable.

I know we didn’t deserve to win,but I absolutely hate losing games in the last minute like that. It’s gut wrenching.I’d rather lose by ten goals than lose like that.

We were well held. Our prime movers were nullified to a fair degree. This is a learning experience. Better to lose this week than next. We might come out angry next week and smash into Melbourne like we did last year.

Hopefully. The issue is though we haven’t smashed anyone all year. Unlike Cats and especially GWS. Some worrying signs that’s for sure.

We smashed Brisbane, we smashed Port, we mostly smashed Richmond. But OK.

Next week and this week are both 4 points, and Melbourne won't make finals but Fremantle might.

Not on the final score the way GWS has.

Varcoe is finished.
His stats for the last year and a half show it.
He could not have any confidence in shooting for goal.
He gave it off everytime.
Play the young ones in daicos.
We fumbled all day and they didn't.
Beams is not worth the price we paid for him.
He has a 4 year contract and seems injury ridden.
Treloar lacks pace these days.
We have some decent problems that need to be fixed.

Shades of 2016-17 creeping back in with this team. When Mad Dog Hogan looks good you know you’re going backwards.

The Murray thing is never-ending too, so we're a man down.

I forgot to add that the defence was great.
The midfield and attack .....pretty ordinary.

agreed. 1% plays is just not enough to keeping in this side. He is just a list clogger.

Today's general lack of effort is emphasised by the fact that our top two for tackle numbers were Pendlebury and Sidebottom. That sums up our problem - our best footballers are having to do the grunt work, as well because the guys who should do the grunt work can't because they lack pace and can't close the opposition down.

Disagree. I believe he's in the team to provide pressure on the ball carrier and that he does very well. Earnt a free kick in the forward line today doing just that.
