* Chris Mayne for that miraculous final quarter goal, lying on the ground in the goal square!
* Brodie for his lion-hearted effort throughout - how does he do it?
* Callum Brown for that burst out of the centre and kicking it straight as an arrow through the bloody sticks!
* Levi Greenwood - where did he pull that game from?
* Roughy - great defending on Buddy
*Jack Crisp - for his constant, continual drive out of the backline
* Daniel Wells - for representing the indigenous so well for a half |
I nearly injured myself when Mayney kicked that goal!!! _________________ I hold a cup of wisdom, but there is nothing within. |

Amazing.I thought we’re gone so many times tonight. This team just doesn’t give up.It was so ugly,as I predicted, but at least we won. That’s all that matters. |

Good win under tough circumstances. Effort shouldn’t be underestimated. Team looking a bit shaky in places for the first time this year, but reminds me of late last year when we had a skeleton crew and just kept winning. Want to make special mention of some of Wills’ efforts towards the end – brilliant desperation. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Lucky...very lucky. How many times can we push our luck before it runs out? I'm just not sure how good we are. Is grinding out wins the sign of a top side or a good side? I feel like we need to step it up next week and really crush the opposition, I need to see it happen. Can we see our supposed awesome midfield actually dominate because it really hasn't happened yet. Don't know how many more of these fugly, grindy wins I can cope with, my supply of Single Malt is taking a battering this month.
Anyway, tick it off I suppose. Sydney were pretty good it must be said, they just played their Grand Final, like all shit teams do when they come up against us.
To Brodie Grundy....don't ever change! Another dominant performance. _________________ RED "BABY" CAVANAUGH: Didn't hear what the bet was.

Doris, I too was steeling myself for a loss. Don't know what it was - perhaps the shape of the ground, but it was so congested and our forwards were unable to get a clear run at the ball. Mind you - Alir Alir was pretty good!! But our boys believe and never give up!! |

What a relief. That is 3 weeks in a row we have done it the hard way.
Dermie is right when he says the Pies will give you a look. The cats are better at putting sides to the sword than what we are.
To be fair though, we had plenty of quality out. |

Yeah, 10 minutes into the last I thought it just wasn't going to happen.
This team, regardless of who is out, have a belief they can beat anyone. _________________ I hold a cup of wisdom, but there is nothing within. |

Yes I thought overall Wills was below par. The last portion of the last quarter tho some of his efforts just to push the ball forward, keep it out of Sydney's hands was critical. That's what effort does. _________________ kymbo |

I’d really, really like to point out that 1 team’s 2 star forwards kicked 8.0 between them but we still found a way. |

Yes very true.
Going into the last quarter i had given up on him.
And then a couple of times he did really really well pushing the ball forward. |

MM, exactly that thought went through my mind. Is it our class that rises to the top in these close contests or shouldn't they ever be so close in the first place?
I think it is a general rule that every side brings out their best when playing us.
Beating us at the moment is such a feather in the opposing team's cap. But do we have to wait to the final minutes to put brush them aside??? I'm flummoxed as regards this question. Still, the main thing is to keep winning so that we can be there in September.
Heaven help us if we should ever be without Brodie. |

Agree with all the above. I made the decision that Rupert just doesn't cut it for the seniors, but then he did some valiant things in the last quarter. Another quandry for the selection committee!! |
