Must win. Not because we need it to make the finals, but because we always MUST beat this pathetic club. Pressure the Dees and they'll go to water, and as we saw last night if it rains we're certainties. |

Good thing it’s raining from wednesday to Monday next week with an average temp of 11 degrees.

Grundy dominated against the GCS but he's definitely carrying an injury : he was hobbling from the start of the game.
It'll be interesting to see if he can run the game out against Gawn. |

POSSIBLE INS:
Returning From Injury:
Darcy Moore will undergo a fitness test, but is expected to miss at least one more week. There is a small, but unlikely, chance he plays. No one else is ready to come back yet. Sier might be tested, but after Wills performance, he might have to come back via VFL if he's fit.
From The VFL:
Quote: | Goal Kickers: T. Wilson 2, S. Glover 2, A. Gallucci 2, A. Tohill 2, A. Bosenavulagi 2, J. Noble, D. Stanford
Best Players: J. Madgen, T. Brown, A. Woodward, S. Glover, F. Appleby, T. Wilson |
John Noble "stood out" with 23 touches and a goal according to the AFL website. However the VFL website does not have him listed in the bests. I think he is some chance to come back in.
Tyson Goldsack was expected by many to be included in the last fortnight. He had a quieter day yesterday with 11 disposals. I dont know how he's going to break back in if he hasnt been able to yet. With Cox now out, he might get a look.
Tim Broomhead has been playing well in the past 3 weeks. It could be very encouraging for the team to see him back after that horrible leg break last year. Dont know if he's going to get another chance though.
Tyler Brown has been emergency almost every game in the past 6 weeks. Been very good in the 2's and we have him to look forward to in the future. I'll expect him to be an emergency again. But a debut is slightly possible.
Madgen and Appleby had a very good game. The Blues had no options up forward and plenty of interceptions were made across half back. Both are probably in front of Goldsack if we need a tall defender, but 'Sack can also play forward if needed.
Crocker was the carry over player, so he didn't suit up this weekend.
OUTS:
Cox is now a forced out. This is horrible news.
Mayne copped a body hit on the siren, but was up and about not long after. I think he'll be ok to play. Howe also hurt his knee, but returned to play out the game. We'll have to keep an eye on both players at training.
Other than Cox, I dont think we'll see a lot of changes this week. When you win by 10+ goals, it's hard to find someone who didnt contribute.
Edited now the news on Cox is out. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned!

Cox usually performs well vs Melbourne. He’s missing, with a less than 100% Grundy, vs Gawn (and possibly Preust).
This season can’t end quick enough. _________________ Est. 2002 |

For possibly the first game all year, I reckon we'll play the Dees with an unchanged team.
That would be good for the next couple of weeks, before bringing back Moore, (possibly) Wells and JDG for the last game against the Bombers. Then Stephenson returns for the finals. |

Well, there has to be at least the forced change for injury. |

I was just thinking the same thing. Wills will be getting acquainted with Gawn's navel in the ruck contests when Grundy is resting. Looking forward to the interview with him after the game. |

Thats true actually.
Lynch is the ruck in the VFL and has been emergency a number of times. Goldsack might get the call up to play forward if Roughy can help out when BG needs a rest. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |
