What do you think?
Injury report says he's still a couple weeks away. When he's finally right to go, does he stay in the VFL? Or will he have a place inside the ones?
Would you go into a finals series with him, or is he a bit of a risk? I mean if we were to go all the way, it'd be something to see him go out with a flag. But would he be in our best squad?
At 34 years of age, and surly in his final season, its a big question. Hasn't played since the Queens Birthday game last year. With 14 club games, it'd be nice to see him be able to add to it. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

I think he's in - when fit and firing he is ahead of a couple of players. He is a very creative player. Thomas, Aish, Phillips though perhaps not the running of course. He isn't as spectacular as some but very reliable and as I said creative. _________________ We shall set our course by the stars and not ships that pass in the night |

There is absolutely no question that once fit he’ll play VFL first; not AFL. Only form and durability (in the form of at least two games) would get him back into the senior team. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

When he's on, he's untouchable. Can't remember who it was against, 2017?, but he had an absolute blinder. Unfortunately these performances a few and far between due the condition of his body.
Hopefully I'm wrong here because he is a very gifted individual. _________________ Magpie Jumper Gallery:

Who? He was just a placemarker to park some of our salary cap, so we had space to pay some footballers as they reached their peak. |

Well, it’s not like he’s battle weary.
My guess would be that the club will train up slowly but surely to be ready for the second half of the season. We either nail a Hail Mary or we reflect on a complete bust.
Let’s be honest, we did what we did last year without him firing a shot.
I’m not convinced he’s the difference, more like a little cherry on top. |

Daniel has now been injured for 295 days with a foot injury and no real sign of immediate return! What a disaster recruit! _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

If he doesn't come good could we put him on Long term & get a mid-season draft spot? _________________ "If at first you dont succeed...

no he isnt, and i'd be really surprised if we get to find out. Much like Ben Reid, the debate appears to be a theoretical one as its not clear his body will be healthy long enough for him to win the trust of the selectors.
I'd be very surprised if we see Reid, Dunn or Wells on the field again. And I have grave concerns for Scharenberg, but maybe he will become another, like Elliot and Moore, who we get to watch play superb football while holding our breath and crossing all of our fingers each time they touch the ball (or run). _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

^ I reckon Dew got his entry to coaching because he was a "premiership player". It probably doesn't help coaching at all, but that's the AFL mindset for you. The way guys land club jobs is often ridiculous. |
