The way that YOU should live is the way that I TELL YOU TO live. The way that I live is, well, up to me...

One rule for one, one rule for another.

Just like parliamentarians of a particular political persuasion who "live" in their electorates until they're no longer in parliament, but once they're finished in parliament, they can't get out fast enough.

But that's OK 'cause they all know better than we do...

How else does the Daily Mail expect her to get from London to New York?

Train?

Bus?

Car?

Walk?

Swim?

Long jump?

Teleport?

It's either a commercial airplane flight or a very very long boat ride.

If it's the latter Trump would probably put her in immigration detention.

Imagine if Daily Mail journalists and readers cared about anything meaningful as much as they care about pointing out others' hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy is not confined to the virtue-signalling left but they do do it so well. Anyway, here are some of my favourites.

J.K. Rowling crying over refugees and the poor whilst her mansions stay empty:
https://www.change.org/p/j-k-rowling-petition-for-j-k-rowling-to-take-in-muslim-refugees-in-her-18-spare-bedrooms

The Sultan of Brunei applying Sharia-law to all muslim citizens except his family:

And, of course, the anti-gay bible-thumpers who get caught hanging around men's toilets:

The thing is, whether or not Emma Thompson is a hypocrite, climate change is a real and pressing (and not exactly "left-wing") problem. In this case, I would much prefer – if their contributions are actually helping, which may be debatable – that rich celebrities spread the message, even if they don't live perfect lives themselves, rather than being non-hypocritical and silently letting the world burn while they continue to enjoy their first-class flights (as so many other rich people already do).

I'm not saying that hypocrisy isn't a problem, or that it doesn't undermine their message. But, as I said, the question of whether people are or aren't hypocrites is so much more irrelevant than actual issues that matter, and serves as an active distraction from those topics.

We all have our blind spots about how we impact on the earth. Lately I've become annoyed by people who don't want things like mines thousands of miles from where they live, who insist that their darling little kitty doesn't help create the endangered species that are going to be threatened by a mine! Meanwhile driving round in big 4wds.

The left is naturally more prone to hypocrisy, I'm not sure someone catching a plane and eating beef during the flight when they'd lectured people to fly less and eat less meat is the best example. Going first class means you have more money than brains, not that you're burning more fuel than someone down the back in cattle class.

Al Gore flying around the world in a private plane to promote his climate change movie is a better one. he could have done video links.

Personally I think the progressive left and the climate change fanatics having their opinions is like having a penis. It's great to have one, enjoy it, just don't try to shove it down my throat

Well pardon me for actually doing some research on the topic instead of just following the mob. Rolling Eyes

I assume you have solar power for everything and ride your bicycle everywhere when you aren't throwing insults at people who hold differing opinions to you?

We are ones who love money
And from every tax haven we’ve come
We are your dreams, turned into nightmares
I am, you’re not, right-wing Australian

I’ve punched Chinese heads at Lambing Flat
Thrown gay men off the gap
Stood side by side with Andrew
And said climate change is crap
I’m George with his paedophiles
Menzies kissing the royal bum
I’m arrogance made human
Right wing Australian

I’ve tampered with Joh’s jury to set the old fert free
Printed lies with Rupert, made apartheid at Moree
I’m Santa with his blacklist, I’m Chris Skase on the run
Contempt for all outsiders
Right wing Australian

I’m Bolte hanging Ryan, I’m pokies at the pub
I’m Bronnie in her chopper, the doorman at the club
I’ve fought the war in Vietnam
Using other people’s sons
The tyranny of rich white men
Right wing Australian

I’ve removed kids at Northam, shot folks at Wycliffe Well
Marched on the black muster, sent Pemulwuy to hell
I took that flag off Cathy, had Kalkadoons on the run
They’ll wish they never messed with
The top Australians

We are ones who make money
All that matters when all is said and done
Unlike you, we are important
I am, you’re not
A real Australian

If it’s true – and that’s quite arguable – it’d only be because they are the ones, by and large, trying to make the world a better place. Easy to be consistent when one isn’t invested in remedying injustice or (as we see so much from anti-left people nowadays) more interesting in making snarky comments and calling out supposed hypocrisy than actually doing or caring about anything meaningful. Better to try and be found a hypocrite than to not try at all, right?

What a stupid thread. Really?

I just spent 5 minutes of my life I'll never get back. The OP should be posting on a kindegarten forum (with apologies to the kindergarteners as its way below their intellectual capacity)
