No doubt Jack Crisp has surpassed the cliché "steak knifes" moniker by now with his placing 4 times in the top 10 (twice top 5) in the Copeland since he started with us in 2015. Got me thinking though. Which recruits over the last 40 years have come cheap but "over-delivered".

A few in my time as a fan:

* Kevin Morris
* Craig Davis
* Leigh Brown
* Shane Wakelin
* Paul Medhurst

Any players on your list?

Loved Jimmy Clement, however we did give up Paul Williams for Jimmy and Brodie Holland in a complicated trade so he may have been more "Ginzu knives vs steak knives" Smile

I don't know if Shane Woewodin counts as steak knives but he came pretty cheap if I recall. Melbourne paid half his salary, correct?

Jack Crisp is the obvious one that's currently playing. Hasn't missed a game in the B&W.

We gave up our 2002 first round draft pick for Shane so did come at a price.

Mihocek may become the best cheap pick up yet.

Leigh Brown was another.

Wasn't Billy the steak knives in getting marty Clarke back?

Marty, Billy and pick 67 from GWS to Collingwood for pick 25 in the 2011 draft
