They were booing because they didn’t like Captain Scott taking away their only remaining bragging right on Anzac Day - he is, of course, Hird’s better but has now Equalled Hird’s 3 times winning the Anzac Medal. Hopefully, Scott will win one more and erase the King of the Essendopers from the record books.
Since he started his personal domination of the Bumblers, they have won just three Anzac Day games - and they won one of those (2009) by accident. |

An Essendon mate (I know) suggested it was in response to Pendle’s staging for a free and getting it, while AMT “got none”.
He was good enough to say it wasn’t right though.
I suggested they must go apeshit when they play Selwood. |

It's not about booing, per se.
The kerfuffle over today's booing was because of when it happened.
Truly appalling. _________________ Donny.

during the game sure but not while they're trying to make a speech about the honour of playing on anzac day. |
Precisely WarrenerraW, this is exactly why the booing was so disgraceful. Geez, even Robbo thought it was shameful!!! Both he and Gerard said it was a blight on the whole tradition of Anzac Day. If the AFL had any guts, they'd take the game away from Essendon. At the very least, the Essendon club should issue an apology for the way their supporters went against everything that the Anzac spirit stands for. A**seholes. |

Essendon will have to live with this embarrassment. They booed a bloke who’s never put a foot wrong on the footy field. But emotions were high and they were still fuming about some decisions that didn’t go their way. I am happy to forgive them. I’ve no doubt it was not about Pendles. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

This was always the risk of having games on significant days. They always went on (and still do) about how the game is respectful to the occasion and adds to it, blah, blah, blah... and then double down by using the claimed success of it to argue that it should be expanded further (a game on the eve, games on other significant days, etc.)... But even before the game there was controversy about the AFL's decision to get the band (pop music band, not army band!) out to provide entertainment.

I'd be happy for the game to be taken off ESS, we should protest & refuse to play them again on ANZAC Day, they can suck a bag of shalongas for all I care! _________________ WE WERE ROBBED, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MEEE!

They booed:
* Hird when coaching
* Worsfold round 2
* their own players when Hird was coaching
* Pendles today
Cliché, crass and classless club! _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

That was Woosha’s way of saying it was about the umpires without criticising them which he woulda been fined for. Gee get over it mate. Take the four points. Stop sweating the small stuff. First world problem. Who cares. It’s Essendon’s problem not ours. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

I thought Worsfold's response was pathetic and he looked really sheepish when he said it. |
