Was anybody else perplexed when Brisbane got awarded a free kick deep in our forward line in the second quarter after he had his legs cut from under himself. Paid high contact to them. Staggering inconsistency given the Cripps penalty against us round 3.

RE: The Free given to Cameron against Moore early in the 4th;

Quote:
This kind of free kick needs to be seriously looked at and reviewed.

How can Charlie Cameron be given that free when he was the offending player? He recklessly came into the contest as Moore was on his knees with the ball.

Cameron came in from the front? It was a shocking call for this "contact below the knees" thing thats going on.

Maybe I need to see the footage again, I've only seen it during the live coverage. But at the time, I couldn't believe it.

Yes I was shaking my head. I may also have dropped and expletive or 2 but the dog can't tell me what I said. I think the AFL head umpire muppet should rxplain why it was different.

It was a fair call – Varcoe was clumsy there. The one against Moore was pretty bad, though.

its funny that people here claim that the rule is bad and as far as i can tell, they seem to think Collingwood is on the receiving end of a bad call every single time. Doesnt matter whether we are the slider or the slidee!

Ah, good old fashion bias at play.....

That was the one that got me going.Moore stumbled, literally,and fell on his knees and the Brisbane bloke went straight over the top of him. However, overall we finally got some decisions our way and I wouldn't be complaining too much.I was sitting right in the middle of the Lions members and they were filthy.I loved every minute of it.They booed themselves into silence over Beams. Very Happy Very Happy

Since we're talking about it, how about Stevo's 2nd goal? Kicked it, legs taken out in a slide by the defender afterwards and JS went into the goalpost

Let's face it, it was a kneejerk rule change based on a single freak incident/accident which has now become a nightmare to officiate

Reminds me of when somebody (name/club? Sydney?) broke their leg getting smothered while kicking... just part of the game/freak accident. But there was some debate in the commentary/media out whether there should be a report as a result for some weeks/incidents after. Just stupid. Shit happens
