I always look forward to reading what I posted on Nicks the night before, particularly post a big win when I've gotten stuck into the frothies...

I'm guessing we played at least 12 games on the MCG last year - so he was responsible for 5 points per games.
So no where near as bad as you are suggesting.
The more important question is how many points was he directly linked to our scoring? I would suggest it's greater than 5 per game - so his contribution I suspect is a net positive in points per game. |
So every time he steps out on to the MCG he directly contributes via turnover a goal to the opposition. I’d say that’s a horrific number.

He's turned it over 12 times more than the next Collingwood player according to the quote so I'd say the rest of them aren't costing us nearly as much.
I don't mind Flip. I reckon he's an overall net positive for the team. Would love him to work out his kicking though. He would be an absolute gun then

Well that craft can be nurtured / improved in the 2nd's. Not to say he hasn't done his time with the Pies reserves as he came through however if he was at Hawthorn he'd have had 2 years playing for Box Hill to sort these kinks out before being let loose in the seniors.
With competition for spots, if he has a glaring deficiency, it'll be to his advantage to go back, work on it and reset for a senior spot.
With WHE and Adams to come back in, and a host of players on the frings, he might find the decision is made for him regardless.

Who brings more to the team Greenwood, Phillips or Aish. 2 out 3 are making room for WHE and Adams

Keep harping back to “they can be trained” A yank taught a totally foreign game (work in progress) but improving with each game
Adams condemned for poor disposal—coaching improve that
It can work with anyone given patience of player / club
And supporters patience included—he was in a side that climbed off the deck
He’s a kid give him your support
Howe made two howlers, one being a kick 20 meters in to opposing players checst. No knives out for him who been around the traps

Greenwood is potentially gunna be a ‘horses for courses’ selection throughout this season. That’s fine cos if we remain relatively injury free, some quality players will be playing VFL every week.
Anyone who thinks Tom Phillips isn’t best 22 and one of the first picked clearly doesn’t know much about footy, or what’s important to a footy team; or how much work and runnng is required to do your job.
Aish is the questionable one. He has courage; he has a crack; but unlike Phillips; his numbers aren’t high enough to make up for some serious skill deficiencies. He would be the first to make way for Adams IMHO.
WHE might have to come back via the VFL I reckon.

Agree about Greenwood. I would have thought last week would have been one of the courses he is a horse for.

Yeah, we know his kicking has room for improvement, but it'd be fairer to him if they gave turnovers per possession or disposal.
