Phillips did a good job and so did Treloar.
Overall we simply lack the same pressure they applied.
In those humid slippery conditions it was all about forcing the errors which they did much better.
I wonder if ratings like yours would change much if we had kicked the last goal of the game instead of them? I suspect it would. Amazing how one kick can change so much eh... _________________ "You must be a parking ticket, cuz you got fine written all over you" Glen Quagmire |

No, my ratings would have been the same. Good teams can win ugly with a myriad of players down. Geelong had many down but scrounged a victory that could have gone either way. Hopefully the way we played is viewed as an outlier (similar to Round 1, 2018 against Hawks) when looked back on in September. _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

Geelong made just as many errors as we did.Had they been cleaner and more accurate they might have won by far more.
That 3rd quarter we let them run all over the top of us: 4.6 to 3.1 - ten scoring shots to four. had they been accurate they could have put the game to bed. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |
