Callum Brown did not have a good game, but at some stage we have blood these young players, otherwise we will never improve. While Greenwood is a hardened warrior, he’s clearly near the end of his career, so should not be spoken of as our saviour. If a hard inside mid is required, I’d prefer to see Wills come in.

The two big mids Sier and Wills are very strong with some different traits

Rare that Sier looses footing in a tackle —Wills it happens a bit he ends on the deck in a scrum

In Wills favor I believe he is a harder tackler—-Sier bit more ball finesse

Back to Treloar, I don’t have a big problem with him butchering the ball on the back of a 35 disposal game IN ROUND ONE. It’s a far better indication of where he is at fitness wise as opposed to only finding it ten times in a game.
His preparation was modified and he did get through the game ok on the back of his soft tissue injury at the end of last season.
He’s proved he’s fit and match ready, now he just needs to blow out the cobwebs and get a better feel for the tempo.
From what I saw on Friday night night, hes not alone in that area and it’s also unrealistic to think everyone will back to their best only 6 days later ...... just saying.

It's true that 10 clangers and 34 disposals is about the same rate as 6 clangers and 18 disposals (Grundy).

146 clangers in the game is ... err... Shocked ...

This is true. Brown or Sier for I ...I am happy with either, who has more upside?.

I feel Sier will be a better like for like with Greenwood as a stopper, but i think Brown is more x-factor and could be more of an around the ground player.

It’s interesting this relative thing 👀

Tyler the younger of two boys may be the one that makes his mark tho I still like the older bro to have a simalar career

Jason Cloke looked the goods but never got there
Ditto Cameron

It was left to young Travis to be the longevity player

Callum Brown's major problem, as with young Daics, is that he is a dwarf. You have to be an exceptional player to overcome the deficiency of dwarfism. Embarassed

I think you mean midget, or if that is politically incorrect now, I am sure that someone will correct me and tell me what I should have said. In any event, people that are really short.

Isn't a dwarf one who is small and has disproportionate body parts, as in the types that hung around with Snow White?

For me it was selection arrogance. We had a player who has a demonstrated record on Selwood. There should not have been any ambiguity about selecting Greenwood. We overestimated our ability and underestimated Geelongs ability.

Brown can’t kick the ball very well either. In the horses for courses context it was foolish to leave Greenwood out. Greenwood is not the messiah but he knows how to play on Selwood

Went to the game. Very disappointed as I'm sure we all are. A combination of Keystone Cops and Benny Hill; at times slapstick and vaudaville rolled into one

Quoted for truth; but at least we can't play any worse [we hope...]

Before the game I didn't like the set up; why would you not play Greenwood who has a demonstrated record against Selwood.

No further questions, your honour

Game/set/match: WPT

Totally. Game lost at selection table; despite the inept disposal standard.
