It’s been said we will have one in 2019 ???

I contemplate it’s mechanism —-do the players (use McLarty as example) sign a contract say for example with Williamstown is it for a year/s or a quantity of games

Does it also have traffic going from AFL club to AFL club

Any one shed light on it at all

Sounds like not all details have been released:

https://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-02-07/midseason-draft-when-is-it-and-how-will-it-work

"CLUBS are beginning to learn the finer details of this year's mid-season draft, which is expected to fall after round 11."

"As compensation for state league clubs who have players taken from them midway through the year, it's understood AFL clubs will be made to provide them with a reimbursement."

'McLarty played for his VFL club Williamstown against North Melbourne on Saturday – with Essendon list boss Adrian Dodoro among the spectators – after sitting out the previous week ahead of the SSP deadline.
...

McLarty's Williamstown coach Andy Collins, who had four players join AFL clubs since the end of the last VFL season, was disappointed for him but hopeful he would get another shot.

"The great thing now is that it's not really just Sam or Luke. It's proven that state league players can come in and play AFL footy straight away," Collins told AFL.com.au.

"I imagine come the mid-season draft there are probably going to be 10 to 12 spots, maybe even more, because of injuries and so forth – and that's exciting." '

Expect we would have a very comprehensive list in case we need to replace a player/s

Certainly hope the club is well prepared

Terry Keays (#12) and Kane Batzloff (#24).

Keays previously played with us between 1987-1990, but didn't play in 1993 after he was recruited in the mid-season draft. He also had a short stint with the Tigers playing 25 games between 1990-1992.

Keays... Aha! Looked so promising in '87 as a 16-year-old... but by '90 had been passed. (I think one of his few games in '90 was the narrow H&A loss to Ess.)

Batzloff... Hmm... Don't know anything about him.

A small profile about Batzloff.

I remember Terry Keays! It was my pleasure to be knocked out by him when playing Teal Cup for the ACT against Vic Metro in '89...

I checked: Terry Keays played both H&A games against Ess. in '90, two of six games that year and only ten in the three years '88-90, after ten in his debut year. He kicked 3 behinds in the R19 loss, after kicking 3.2 against St. K. in R18.

The Mid Season Draft——how would that work in the Rance situation

I ask this because eveyside us included is vulnerable to a player out for the year

With a long term injured player altho on list can a State League player get picked up to fill the “vacancy “

When Dane Swan went down we could well have utilised it had it been in
