Lots of ex-pies, lots of VFL pies, a few undrafted father-sons and a couple brothers in there.

No Goddard and no Harvey. No Jonty.

Passed up father-sons:

Tyler Roos; Son of Paul. Passed up by Brisbane as a father-son. Is a small, been good for the Sharks, but is he AFL ready? Do the Swans have a pick?, that'd be something.

Jydon Neagle & Matt Neagle; Older brother Jay didnt make it as Essendon. Jaxon was over looked and Jydon was let go by Essendons VFL team. Three of the four brothers now play for Central Districts.

Jake Riccardi; Son of Peter. Seems to be doing well at Werribee.

Randoms:

Jonathan Freeman; former Lion. Remember when we were linked to him and people were screaming for a FF? Not anymore.

Adam Tipungwuti; lots of hype because of his name.

Nick Yarran; Very skinny but very fast.

Marlon Motlop; 29 year old small.

Michael Barlow; would probably still be in the AFL if it wasnt for his leg injuries. Then again, he is 31 years old.

Aaron Black; 28 year old ruined by injuries. Does Freo have a selection?

Sam Fisher; Not from St Kilda. From Sydneys rookie list.

Nathan Freeman; Could you imagine it?

Xavier Fry; Brother, Philip, went missing in 1999.

Aaron Heppell; shittier younger brother.

Mitch Hibberd; Kangaroos reject.

Heath Hocking; 31 year old Delisted by Essendon.

Alex Johnson; 4 time knee reco champion. Would love to see him be picked up. It won't be Collingwood, but it'd be a nice story is he got back into the AFL.

Samuel McLarty; Swans had a look earlier.

Dillon Viojo-Rainbow; Was his dad Brett Rainbow?

Corey Gault; Sounds like he might get picked up. Still got a chance to be the next Carey.

Jackson Merrett; He is a descendant of Thorold Merrett.

We could do worse than consider Gault as a backup for the key forward\second ruck position. We seem to have only two players (Cox & Reid) on the list that can play this role.
Given Reid's injury history, there is a significant risk that both he and Cox could be out injured at the same time. We could do with some coverage for this scenario.

And from what I can gather, Gault has improved markedly from his days as a Collingwood player.
I'm assuming of course that he left on good terms and would be happy to return to the club.

Dunn is the player we are replacing. Does it make sense to get the best KPD, effectively replacing his position?

Normally he did his best work with the fists after midnight in King Street!

I remember after his first game at Vic park he was not allowed into the social club without a parent. His Mum and Dad turned up to sign him in and he said "I am so tired". A few people bought him soft drinks and he fell asleep in one of the couches in the ground floor. Twiggy Dunne and his Dad carried him to his dads car. Was a victim of the Richmond wars. He was a big unit at 16 but everyone else caught up to him.

Michael Barlow is available...

I'm still stunned by Carlton's arrogance in declining both Barlow and Goddard.
They may have proved a good investment in some of their closer games; perhaps they should have gone via GWS?

Too bad Bior Malual cant enter the mid season draft. Will look for a rookie position in October.

I dont think we're going to draft anyone who is going to have a dramatic effect on the playing list in 2019.

There isnt anyone that is going to go straight into the team and there's no older guys, apart from Barlow I guess, who can come in and provide something if needed later in the year.

From what I've read, I like the sounds of Dunkley, Ajang, Eastland and Ben Kelly. And also Luke Strnadica as a back up ruck option.

Will be interesting to see who gets picked up. And if we'll have two picks or not.

And yeah, I'm disappointed Goddard didnt nominate. Laughing
